The role and its responsibilities*

Based at our site in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, your core role is to assume overall accountability for the successful execution of the data management strategy across the AkzoNobel DP business area, in alignment with the corporate GMDM program.

You work closely with the AkzoNobel GMDM team, the DMRA (Data Management, Reporting & Analytics) Ops team and the Reporting & Analytics team on all matters regarding data quality, the SAP MDG program and other general MDM topics.*

Further, you maintain close relationships with regional data managers outside of EMEA, local master data coordinators, GPOs and data owners. Other important stakeholders are the wider SAP, BI and Microsoft AX user community and the corporate IT department.

As a member of the DMRA MT you are involved in defining and driving the execution of the data management strategy, and you lead the group of data principals in the DMRA team. The team consists of young high potentials, supported by interns, and is responsible for translating business requirements into solutions across all elements of our data management framework. The team also defines and rolls out various data quality improvement projects and is the business lead for the global roll out of SAP MDG.

You also lead the team’s continuous improvement methodology, and you are responsible for the definition and execution of the SAP MDG program, in close cooperation with the relevant IM owner. You are also project lead for relevant data quality improvement projects.

All of this requires you to manage a complex stakeholder landscape and to work in close cooperation with the BU data managers, the data process coaches, and IT staff.

Finally, you perform inspirational and empathetic people management for all direct reports and the further management of the needs and set up of the overall team.*

Candidate profile

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

Master’s degree or equivalent through experience, and 5-10 years of experience in consultancy at one of the Big4;

In-depth knowledge of data maintenance processes, data models and data governance, with experience in MDM projects an advantage;

Experience with Procurement, Manufacturing or Supply Chain business processes and reporting is preferred;

Powerful user of Microsoft Excel, Visio and Powerpoint, and knowledge of SAP;

Able to act as sparring partner of the department lead and the other MT members;

Fluent written and spoken English, and willing to travel globally.
