Sunshine Coast Destination are excited to launch a new online food tourism campaign and competition with taste.com.au.

 

Fronted by celebrity chef and Sunshine Coast local, Matt Golinski, the competition to “Name Matt’s Recipe,” highlights produce from the region including Noosa Red Tomatoes, Hinterland Limes and Mooloolaba Prawns.

 

Sunshine Coast Destination CEO, Simon Ambrose said the Sunshine Coast food industry will increase its profile and appeal as a food destination through this promotion.

 

“As the regional tourism body, we understand the value of culinary tourism to the region in terms of boosting our visitor numbers and as such have formed a food tourism group to grow the region’s reputation as a world class food destination.

 

“This campaign will introduce consumers to new food experiences unique to the Sunshine Coast, what is grown in this region and putting the spotlight on our local producers.

 

“When people visit the Sunshine Coast they are amazed at the range of food experiences we offer as a destination including over 500 producers, cooking schools, food attractions, markets, tours, festivals and award-winning restaurants.

 

“The Sunshine Coast is well positioned to be a market leader in this area of food tourism,” added Mr Ambrose.

 

The winner of the taste competition will receive a three night holiday to the Sunshine Coast including flights from nearest capital city to Brisbane/Sunshine Coast, return transfers and three nights accommodation at Mirra Channa Mooloolaba, limo transfer and entry to the Noosa International Food Festival and tickets to The Taste of Queensland, meet and greet Matt Golinski, dinner at Fish on Parkyn, a breakfast hamper one morning, a three hour guided tour of the hinterland visiting Flame Hill Winery and Maleny Cheese.

 

The competition is open until 20 April and can be entered via taste.com.au
