Following last year’s inaugural success, ILTM Africa – the specialist event where luxury travel agents and advisors from across the world meet some of Africa’s most spectacular luxury travel experiences – have reported that registrations for the 2014 event have increased by 56% year on year, with the US and Canada growing by 36%.
Of those accredited to attend, 30% have never attended a previous ILTM event. ILTM Africa has also reported specific growth from the most popular geographical region requested by exhibitors – North America. Now in its second year, ILTM Africa is set to introduce an unrivalled community of these dedicated Africa buyers and suppliers in over 57 mutually-matched, one-to-one appointments, across three days.
ILTM’s Senior Exhibition Director, Alison Gilmore said:
“We have seen a huge increase in senior level personnel from key Africa specialist agents from across the world registering to attend ILTM Africa 2014 – some key high profile names such as Teresa Perez (Brazil) and Brown & Hudson (UK) are returning, but also other remarkable names attending this year for the first time include Garcia Fernandez (Argentina), Global Nomad (Hong Kong), ITG (Mexico) and Butterfield & Robinson (Canada).”
Simon Mandy of The Royal Portfolio commented:
“ILTM Africa last year was a resounding success for The Royal Portfolio in extending our global luxury travel buyer networks, as well as building stronger relationships. I look forward to seeing who will be attending the show and building on last year’s success.”
With a recent Price Waterhouse Coopers South African Outlook 2013 – 2017 report highlighting that 5* hotels will continue to be the fastest growing hotel category in South Africa as a direct result of interest from the BRIC countries, Lianne Kelly-Maartens of SunLux Collection by Sun International added:
“We are incredibly impressed with the quality of luxury travel buyers attending ILTM Africa – a phenomenal global presence from some really important agents in our key markets – not just the UK and US but across the rest of the fast-growing, emerging world. Not only the brands represented but the level of those attending – we can’t wait to begin our meetings and build our international business community.”
Taking place in the 2014 Design Capital of the World – Cape Town (28 – 30 April, 2014), elite buyers will be fully hosted from 31 countries including: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Chile, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, US and UK.
