Masaki Sakamoto has been named Asia Sales & Marketing Representative at Four Seasons Resorts Lanai.  In his new role, Sakamoto will be responsible for overseeing marketing and sales initiatives in the Asia market, with emphasis in Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan.  Sakamoto will also coordinate market development and sales operations among wholesalers and hospitality partners, as well as public relations efforts.

 

“While based in Tokyo, we are delighted to welcome Masaki to our Lanai ‘ohana to share our stories of aloha with this key market,” says Tom Roelens, general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lanai.  “A wealth of marketing and sales experience, along with his keen understanding of the Asian market, make him the ideal leader to join our marketing team and showcase Lanai’s new look and experiences.”

 

Sakamoto, a veteran in the Hawaiian hospitality world, joins Four Seasons Resorts Lanai from Aviareps Marketing Garden where he served as director of Hawaii Tourism Asia and was responsible for overseeing and directing Aviareps Marketing Garden operations throughout China, Korea and Taiwan.  He handled public relations efforts, which included media visits, newsletters, familiarization visits to the Hawaiian Islands and numerous promotional efforts among travel partners.  Sakamoto also held executive marketing and sales positions at Korea Tourism Organization, InterContinental Hotels Groups, Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, and Hawaii Visitors Bureau.

 

Originally from Japan, Sakamoto is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel and Tourism Management.
