Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg is about to open a brand new ‘Bella Italia’ area as a portion of the largest model railway in the entire world.

This new portion of Italy’s model railway that is located in the area of Speicherstadt would be spanning across about 90 square meters. Apart from that,  it would be enriched with  about 50,000 LED lights and 30,000 figurines.

The founders of the model railway, Gerrit Braun and Frederik who are twin brothers said that no other region on Italy has ever been so detailed and realistic like the current locale of the model railway.

They have specified the reason why they chose Italy as one of the latest addition to the model railway of the world.

They said that they feel that there are 200 countries in the world that could be among the interesting choices but then they wished to begin with a place that was quite close to Germany.

Prior to the commencement of the modeling work, it took an entire year for the planning phase to decide on their goals.

Thereafter, the makers of the railway model put forward their best efforts to make the area as realistic as possible. A small bridge took about 1,400 parts to be built. The new area would be officially opened on 29th September.

Miniatur Wonderland, the biggest model railway of the world was opened  in the year 2001.
