From ghost town tours and haunted corn mazes to pumpkin picking and hayrides, visitors seeking both family-friendly harvest activities and Halloween scares will find a variety of experiences this October on farms across Colorado.  In addition to delight, harvest tours and festivities offer a peek into life on a Colorado farm. Peanuts™ The Great Pumpkin Patch Express

October 17 & 18, 24 & 25, 31

During the 1/2 hour ride on Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, children will receive a trick-or-treat bag to gather goodies at the Pumpkin Patch. At the Pumpkin Patch enjoy live musical entertainment, hay wagon rides, Charlie Brown Game Alley, bounce house, costume contest, straw bale maze, face painting, and trick or treating! Kids will especially enjoy going through the maze to get to the pumpkin patch to pick out their own ‘perfect pumpkin’!

Frederika Farm Festival, Avondale

A centennial farm offering a unique harvest experience. Wind through the “Colorado Come to Life” corn maze, fire the corn cannon (new this year), pick your perfect pumpkin and try your skill with the pumpkin trebuchet in the pumpkin fling, a family-friendly activity that also educates and informs guests about the incredible value that the small family farm provides to our country. The Festival lasts September 18 – October 31.

Colorado Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin WoW

Jellystone Park, Larkspur

The pumpkin patch is open every day in October and provides great fun for all kids. There’s a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin patch, pony rides, games, petting farm, and more. Pumpkin WoW is a family friendly pumpkin themed show with 2 distinct parts; a pumpkin light show, composed of over 1,000 pumpkins and Colorado’s only close-up Zombie Paintball experience.

The Bartles Farm, Ft. Collins

This family farm is now celebrating their 11th year. So, head on over for some “punkin chunkin”, kids mini straw maze, farm animals and, of course, the pumpkin patch. The hand-carved corn maze is unique every year. Offering fall festivities until October 31.

Rock Creek Farms, Broomfield

From fun-for-all-ages, vampire-themed corn mazes to pumpkin patches, caramel apples and homemade pumpkin bread, Rock Creek Farms is a fabulous place to bring in the fall. Don’t forget to try their nighttime maze. And, if you’re looking for pumpkin carving inspiration, a there are a number of free stencils on their web site. Open until November 2.

Tigges Farm, Greeley

Grab a wagon and head to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect gourd! This farm has been run by the same family since 1935 and exudes a unique and precious love for the land. From August – October 31 check out the outdoor Tigges Farm Equipment museum, which showcases some of the original equipment used to till the land. Pick pink pumpkins to support breast cancer research, gourmet pie-baking pumpkins, or small sugar-pie pumpkins.

Miller Farms, Platteville

Miller Farms’ Fall Harvest Festival also runs through mid-November and offers a petting zoo, hayrides, and corn mazes in addition to the 180 acres of fields to pick ripe vegetables like potatoes, carrots, onions, squash and more. Be sure to check out “Antique Alley” for a flash to the past.

Colon Orchards, Colorado Springs

Located in the heart of the Arkansas River Valley, Colon Orchards is a fourth generation farm that offers both a 5-acre maze and 10-acre maze in the fall, in addition to hayrides (on the weekends and a pumpkin patch for selecting the perfect pumpkin. Admission is $8 and includes a pumpkin. Children under 5 are free (pumpkin not included in their entrance).

Fritzler Corn Maze, LaSalle

One of Colorado’s largest corn maze attractions, Fritzler Corn Maze offers a variety of activities to keep kids and adults entertained. Take in this year’s “wild animal sanctuary” farm design from above on a helicopter ride, encounter terrifying scares in Scream Acres, try the interactive ghost haunt through an abandoned ghost town, or make your way through the famed corn maze. Ticket pricing variations are available for non-scary and haunted experiences. Through October 31.

Glenwood Caverns Mountain Fall Festival, Glenwood Springs

Fun for the whole family, including fall decorations, kids’ activities, a pumpkin patch, hay rides, haunted cave tour, fun food and drinks, and more! October 3 – 31.

Diana’s Pumpkin Patch Corn Maze, Canon City

The oldest corn maze in Fremont County, this 8-acre maze will keep patrons on their toes as they wind their way through a unique maze every year. Bring flashlights and enjoy s’mores and hot cider on Friday and Saturday evenings. Diana’s Pumpkin Patch Corn Maze is open Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. through October 31, and groups of at least 15 can visit by appointment Monday – Thursday.

Amaizing Pumpkins and More, Holyoke

Amaizing Pumpkins and More gets families in the Halloween spirit, including several children’s mazes, a pumpkin patch, nightly campfires, a 5-acre corn maze, a haunted maze on Saturday nights, straw bale mountain and more. Through November 2.

Andersons Farms, Erie

Home of Colorado’s Longest-Running Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch.  Through November 1, the Fall Festival includes a 30-acre corn maze, hayride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin launch, kiddie maze and rides, Barnyard 500 pedal karts, farm animals and more. Visit “Terror in the Corn”, a 35-minute, 4-part haunted hayride through a ghost town. Try the Zombie Paintball hunt on a zombie-hunting wagon. Camping is available at the farm.

Studt’s Pumpkin Patch, Grand Junction

A Farmyard Corn Maze, Hay Mountain, inflatable pumpkin jump, pumpkin patch, horse drawn hayride, pig races, and a Corn Cannon are just a sampling of the activities offered at Studt’s Pumpkin Patch. Visiting the pumpkin patch gives a tiny glimpse into the beauty of farm life. New this year at Studt’s: a 60’ foot bird aviary and a walk-in, covered petting zoo! The Patch is open until October 31.

Covered Bridge Ranch, Montrose

Watch out for the headless horseman during your fall visit to this 300-acre scenic ranch’s popular pumpkin patch. Enjoy hayrides, giant haystack, campfire marshmallow roast and apple cider tastings and, new this year: the rabbit hole slide and the corn sandbox. Covered Bridge Ranch is open through October 31.
