Looking for a luxury beach resort? There are plenty in Thailand to choose from. When you take into account the exchange rate, holidaying in Thailand is ridiculously cheap. The average price range for a local four-star hotel is between $80 and $120 a night. But there are last-minute deals available for as low as $50.
So if you’re dreaming of a beach holiday, here are some options of Thailand beaches in Krabi, Khao Lak and Koh Samui and luxury hotels that won’t break the bank.
Krabi
Krabi, which is on the western side of the Thai peninsula, is an ancient landscape a coastline of sandy beaches wedged between green peninsulas and soaring rock formations. There are plenty of day trips, such as rock climbing, island cruises, tuk tuk rides through local villages, kayaking to caves to view 3000-year-old rock art and soaking in hot springs.
Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi
This resort is in an idyllic setting, with a long beach frontage, tropical swimming pool and views of soaring limestone formations. It’s my idea of a fantasy island and close enough by boat to Aonang for a shopping day trip.

This resort sits on a forested hillside and is conveniently located in the midst of shops Aonang’s shops and cafes. Ocean View rooms are comfortable but not plush although, some have balconies with a Jacuzzi and distant views of the Andaman Sea. There are nice touches in the rooms, such as slippers, bathrobes, beach bag, beach mat and free WiFi. The daily activity calendar includes Muay Thai and yoga classes.
Koh Samui
A top spot to holiday with the family, Koh Samui, an island off the east coast of Thailand has plenty to keep the kids busy, such as walks to waterfalls, butterfly gardens, kite boarding and go karting.
Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui
Chill out at this sprawling resort with colonial style buildings and beach frontage on Chaweng Beach. Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui has 203 rooms and extensive landscaped gardens.

Located on the southern tip of Samui Island, near Lamai Beach, this resort is a rustic tropical hideaway with 102 villas. The accommodation is built on a tiered hillside, with a restaurant and bar down by the beach.
Khao Lak

A couples-only resort tucked away on Nang Thong beach, Sensimar is a good choice if you’re looking to gear down in a kid free zone. The pick of the 220 rooms are the ones with direct access to the swimming pool. It’s a bit far from the action but might be just the spot to chill out.
