This is Singapore’s mascot, a mythical creature with a head of a lion and a body of a fish. The lion head represents the lion and the fish tail symbolises Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village. Actually, there are five Merlions in Singapore but the one most people photograph has a backdrop of Singapore’s skyline at Marina Bay.
