December is all about rounding up the best and the worst of the year that will soon come to an end and with a handful of days left to welcome 2017, we have some of the best things in travel from 2016. However, according to 2016’s World Travel Awards, the best hotel suite is awarded to the Katara Suite in the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan, Italy. This is the second time in a row that this title has been bestowed upon this suite and rightly so as it is clearly one of the most opulent suites in the world. For starters, a night here costs a whopping GBP 17,000 that converts to roughly Rs 14,00,000 per night. Take a look at this massive suite and the luxuries it has to offer to those who can splurge their wealth. Keeping their hi-profile guests in mind, there is a private lift that opens directly into the suite as they expect head of states and celebrities to visit who need ample privacy. Apart from being the most opulent suite, it is also the largest one with an area of 11,000 sq ft and can accommodate up to eight people.
It has four bedrooms, a private terrace and private spa as well. The windows in the Katara suite are all bullet-proof.
The interiors are done up in Italian style and reek of opulence from the bedrooms to the bathrooms. The chandeliers hung in the suite are made of Murano glass.
There is even a conference room and 10-seater dining table for delegates who come here for important meetings. A 24-hour butler service is also included in the suite package.
The suite has two terraces, one which is has dining space and the other where you can sunbathe.
The private spa has a sauna, a Turkish bath and a hot tub. It is shaped like a pagoda.
The master bathroom is also huge and promises pampering with its whirlpool bath.
And if the largest suite in Italy isn’t enough for you, you can book the adjoining Princess suite that adds an extra bedroom, bathroom and living room to the Katara suite.
