Mussoorie, also known as the queen of the hills, is a hill town, which is extremely popular among tourists due to its cool climate and scenic view. Mussoorie lies in the Garhwali Himalayan Ranges and attracts a flock of tourists from the nearby metropolitan cities of Chandigarh, Delhi and the like, wishing to escape from the humdrums of the city life to the cooler mountain ranges. There are various hotels and resorts to stay in during a visit to Mussoorie, and various activities one can do while one is visiting the town, like shopping for trinkets at the Mall Road, Trekking to LalTibba, visiting the George Everest Peak or going to the Kempty Falls. Although there is a steady stream of tourist during the summer season, the natural beauty and charm of the colonial town will be enough to captivate a traveller and bring them back numerous times to the town.

From Haridwar, the distance to Mussoorie is about 80 km and it takes around 3-4 hours to reach Mussoorie by road. There are buses that run from Haridwar to Dehradun, and one can change buses at Dehradun to Mussoorie, which is hardly around 30 kms from the state capital. If travelling by road, one can hire a taxi from Haridwar or travel by one’s own car.

To start off the journey, head northeast on NH 58 for 13 kilometres, turning left on NH 72 near Nepali Farms, then heading along NH 72 for 13 kilmetres then turning left, until one reaches Doiwala. From Doiwala, turn right on the Haridwar-Dehradun Road, until you reach EC Road. Take the Rajpur road from there, until you reach the Mussoorie diversion. Take a left from Mussoorie diversion and from there keep on going down the Mussorie Road for another 20 kilometres, until you reach your destination.
