India is a land of festivals. Regardless of which month it is, a festival is always around the corner. But the mother of all Indian festivals is Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. It falls during the month of October/November which is India’s prime festive season. Diwali is preceded by the festivals of Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and Dussehra and followed by the festival of Christmas. As such, it falls right in the middle of the holiday season when people like to travel with their kids and families. Kids get a good one week off from school as Diwali vacation which means it is an ideal time to take a trip. However, due to this very reason, trains run full and there is a need for special trains. Thankfully, Indian Railways has taken this into consideratio and announced several additional train services during this festive season.(ALSO SEE Diwali 2016 date and significance: Why and how India celebrates Diwali!)
