October 9th 2014- “Dare You 2 Move,” the next single from DESTRUCTO’s upcoming WEST COAST EP, finds the p
roducer and DJ collaborating with Compton rapper Problem. The song makes its debut today, October 9 and will be released commercially on October 28th via Insomniac/Interscope Records.

“For these guys, house music is not really their thing. It can be a real challenge for them to work with the straight four-four beat,” DESTRUCTO says of working with Problem. “But when he got it, he really got it, and we made ‘Dare You 2 Move,’ which is a story about a trippy ride in the car.” Look for that ride to come to life in the next video created by award-winning director Agata Alexander in the near future.
The sound of DESTRUCTO’s forthcoming WEST COAST EP [Insomniac Records/Interscope], which will be officially released on November 24, 2014, brings together the after-hours energy of dance music with the streetwise wordplay of contemporary hip-hop hit-makers including YG and Problem. The six-song collection also boasts a trio of genuine rap legends Warren G and Kurupt on this genre-smashing EP that announces a bold new direction for the producer/DJ.
“I wanted to make music that no one else was really doing. I started really digging into new music on the internet and started hearing these tracks that were like house, but with heavy hip-hop samples from Biggie and Tupac mixed in,” DESTRUCTO explains of the genesis of his “G-House 2.0” sound which is when deep house and hip-hop collide. “Originally, I wasn’t even thinking of making tracks, but for tracks to play in cool DJ sets that blended the two sounds. The only problem was that I couldn’t find enough of those tracks to make a full set, so I just thought the next time I went into the studio, I’d try my hand at producing some of my own.”
On the touring front, DESTRUCTO is continuing to bring g-house to the masses on his WEST COAST World Tour. For Halloween, he’ll head south to New Orleans to appear at Krewe of Boo! Monster Mash and then back to Los Angeles for HARD Day of the Dead November 2. He’ll then jet down under to appear on the Stereosonic tour in Australia in November and round out the year with plays at Lights All Night, Texas’ biggest electronic music festival happening in Dallas December 26, followed by both HARD HOLY SHIP! cruises in 2015.
