Brian David Johnson

Futurist & principal engineer, Intel Corporation

As a futurist at Intel Corporation, Brian David Johnson is responsible for developing an actionable 10-to-15 year vision and strategy for the company’s future of technology. His work is called “futurecasting” – using ethnographic field studies, technology research, trend data, and even science fiction to provide Intel with a pragmatic vision of consumers and computing. Brian was a leading proponent of the internet of things before it entered mainstream lexicon.

Neil Capel

Founder and CEO,Sailthru

Sailthru is an omnichannel personalisation platform that aims to tailor the ways consumers experience brands. Prior to founding Sailthru, Neil Capel was CTO for MusicNation, ASmallWorld and Money-Media. In addition to his role at Sailthru he is an advisor to several startups, including Refinery29.com and Zootoo.com. Neil is also a venture partner at Bowery Capital, a seed stage venture fund focused on transformational upgrades to enterprise technologies. He was named one of New York City’s most influential and coolest technology leaders, and is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from behavioural targeting to smart data usage.

Skyler Fernandes

Managing director, Simon Venture Group

Simon Venture Group is the venture capital arm of Simon, the largest retail real estate company in the US. The group invests in retail and real estate innovation, including in-store and online shopping technology, logistics, internet of things and data analytics. Its managing director J. Skyler Fernandes created The “Best” Startup Investor Pitch Deck, which had been viewed over 150,000 times and is used by accelerators and business schools around the world. He has been an adjunct professor and frequent speaker on venture capital at Bard’s MBA, Harvard Business School, NYU and Wharton.

Brock Pierce

Cofounder and managing partner, Crypto Currency Partners

Brock Pierce is an entrepreneur best known for pioneering the market for digital currency. He is cofounder and managing partner of Crypto Currency Partners (CCP). CCP has invested in 25 crypto projects this year. Pierce also cofounded GoCoin, expresscoin, Noble Markets, Blade Financial, ZenBox and more.A sought-after commentator on Bitcoin, he sits on the Board of the Bitcoin Foundation. Pierce is an angel investor, city leader of BitAngels Los Angeles and runs an AngelList top 10 syndicate.

Tom Allason

Head of local, eBay & founder, Shutl

At eBay Tom Allason is responsible for delivering the technology and experiences that create convenient local shopping experiences for eBay customers around the world. Tom was previously founded Shutl, where he developed a leading local delivery platform that powers convenient delivery from multichannel retailers. The business launched in UK in 2009 and was acquired by eBay in 2013.Prior to Shutl, Allason founded eCourier.co.uk which he developed into one of UK’s fastest growing logistics and technology businesses.

Founder, Appear Here

Appear Here is a short-term retail space marketplace used by thousands of brands and landlords every month. Based on the concept that renting commercial property should be as easy as booking a hotel room, Appear Here’s mission is to make retail space accessible to everyone.Hailed a “Digital game changer for the high street” by The Guardian, Appear Here, has received investment from the previous backers of Hailo, Pinterest, Spotify and Trivago.

Nicole Vanderbilt

VP of business development, Etsy

Nicole Vanderbilt joined Etsy in August 2012. Previously she held a variety of leadership roles in the consumer internet industry, including CEO of mydeco.com, VP of international for Bebo, head of industry marketing at Google, and director of premium communications at American Express.Nicole holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSE from Princeton in Architecture and Engineering. She will speak on the emergence of micro businesses who are leapfrogging retailers, plus the strengths of the burgeoning maker-movement.

Scott Malkin

Chairman, Value Retail PLC

Scott Malkin is an investor in experiential, tourism led retail. Value Retail, of which he is chairman, builds and operates high-end outlet shopping villages. Scott is a Trustee of The New York Public Library, Partners In Health, The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the U.S. Olympic Committee Foundation. In addition, he serves on various Advisory Boards including Conservacion Patagonica and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute.

Andy Young

UK country lead, Stripe

Andy heads up UK operations for online payments platform Stripe. The service powers payments for thousands of businesses of every size, from startups to blue chip companies. It works with the likes of Twitter, Facebook, Apple, OpenTable and many others. Prior to Stripe, Andy founded and served as CEO/CTO at membership management platform GroupSpaces, which he grew to help thousands of group leaders manage 5 million memberships worldwide.

Jack D. Hidary

Tech entrepreneur & chairman, Samba Energy

Jack D. Hidary built his career as a tech entrepreneur and has been dedicated to public service in education, sustainable energy and economic growth. He cofounded and served as chairman and CEO of EarthWeb (later Dice.com), the leading online job board for the IT sector, and currently serves on several boards including the Google X Labs advisory board, the Palo Alto Prize advisory board. Hidary is also on the board of trustees of the X Prize Foundation. He is a specialist on the future of retail delivery and is working on scratching the itch of same-day demand.

Peter Fitzgerald

Country Sales Director, Google, UK

The United Kingdom is the biggest market for Google outside the US and is the most advanced major country in terms of e-commerce and online advertising spending. Peter works to reinforce both of these trends. He is also a non-executive director of the department store Debenhams and president of innovation and digital at the British Fashion Council. Prior to his time at Google UK, Peter spent eight years at Amazon.com, where he worked as director of business development.

Andre Wegner

Founder & CEO, Authentise

Authentise is a licensing and services platform for 3D printing. Brands and intermediaries can use its APIs to ensure secure and high quality digital design sales. Authentise’s services arm also helps some of the world’s biggest companies activate their distributed manufacturing strategies.

Prior to founding Authentise, Andre worked as consultant and venture capital investor in India and Nigeria. He holds masters degrees from St. Andrews University and Essec in Paris, and is a graduate of Singularity University’s Graduate Studies Program.

José Neves

Founder & CEO,Farfetch

José launched Farfetch in 2008, a project which brought together his previous experiences as a fashion designer, wholesaler and retailer. José envisioned a single portal offering independent fashion boutiques and designers an opportunity to compete in the online arena with the leaders of fashion e-commerce.

In the mid-nineties José launched footwear design business SWEAR. In 2001 he opened the b store, later adding a number of footwear licenses to his portfolio, including Opening Ceremony (NY), Ksubi (Australia) and Surface2Air (Paris), forming the collective behind SIX London.

Chris Morton

CEO & cofounder, Lyst

Launched in 2010, Lyst is an online fashion retailer with an eye on personalisation. Lyst partners with top fashion brands and stores to provide people with a personalised way to discover the fashion they love. Chris Morton grew up on the East Coast of the US before receiving an MA in physics and philosophy from Cambridge University, where he was a DERA scholar. He has also worked as a venture capitalist. At Lyst Chris is currently pioneering the “single checkout” phenomenon.

Sacha Poignonnec

Co-CEO, Africa Internet Group (AIG)

Sacha is co-CEO of Africa Internet Group, the leading online platform in Africa. AIG aims to accelerate the shift to online services in Africa – for its people and its culture. AIG has built up a platform consisting of multiple web companies including, the online retailers JUMIA, Zando and Kaymu, food delivery platform Hellofood, estate agent Lamudi, motoring marketplace Carmudi, hotel site Jovago and Africa’s Uber, Easy Taxi. Prior to joining AIG Sacha worked at McKinsey in Paris and the US.

Runar Reistrup

CEO, Depop

Depop is a popular mobile app that combines simple buying and selling with the exploratory essence of social networking, making it a fun place for anyone to buy and sell.

Copenhagen-born Runar Reistrup has built mobile businesses since the pre-iPhone age and was part of the founding team behind mobile social network ZYB that was eventually sold to Vodafone. At Depop he has been leading the international expansion and growth of the company outside its native Italy.
