We are pleased to announce that we have added a new "Barebow Recurve/Longbow" division to the field for the 2015 Lancaster Archery Classic. This January 16-18 will be our 12th Classic. The event brings the best archers from the US and beyond to Lancaster County, PA. We would be delighted to see TAS members at the Classic.
Announcing a new Barebow Recurve division for the Lancaster Archery Classic that pays a guaranteed 1st place purse of $1,000!
We are crazy about shooting our recurves here and we want our Barebow shooting friends to be able to join us at the Classic. Payouts based on 20 Barebow Archers: 1st $1,000, 2nd $550, 3rd $350, 4th $200 with 1st guaranteed, others based on number of archers above/below 20. To include as many Barebow and Traditional Archers as possible, we’ll allow a unique combination of NFAA/FITA and ASA/IBO legal equipment for the Barebow Recurve Division that includes non-sighted archers of all ages and genders. Any non-sighted Recurve or Long bow can be used with or without a: Plunger, Arrow Rest, Single Stabilizer(no v-bars), String Clicker, Wrist Sling, Silencers and can be shot with any finger-released method using single or multiple anchors or string walking. (Shooting Instinctive, Gapping, Walking the String and every archer in between are more than welcome)
The highlights of the format are to shoot 60 arrows at the 5-Color, 40cm Indoor Target face, scoring the tiny x-ring as an 11 for qualification on Friday or Saturday. I would expect that the top 8 BB archers will be ranked and shoot an Olympic bracket(#1vs#8, #2vs7, etc.) cutting the field to top 4 which will be re-ranked. Shoot-Up Eliminations with #4 vs#3, winner of that match vs #2, winner then vs #1 to determine champion. It's the most exciting format in competitive archery, now available to you.
