KUALA LUMPUR: The International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (Inceif), set up by Bank Negara to develop human capital for the global Islamic finance industry, still ranks first in the country, among higher education institutions, to produce research papers in economics and sciences.

Research papers in economics (Repec), a decentralised bibliographic database of working papers, journal articles, books, books chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers, recognised Inceif for its contribution since 2015.

Inceif president and chief executive officer Daud Vicary Abdullah said out of the top 30 academics in the country, five were attached with Inceif and recognised by Repec.

“We are ranked 40th in Asia as a university and within the financial economics and finance department category, defined by Repec, we are ranked 30th in the world.

“This is an outstanding achievement as Inceif is ranked higher than even some of the 16 faculties in famous institutions such as CASS Business School, The London School of Economics and the Henley Business School of the University of Reading,” he said. – Bernama
