Worldwide PlayStation 4 sales reach 50-million
Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 has reached 50-million sales across all variants of the console, including the new PlayStation 4 Pro. This announcement comes after fantastic Black Friday sales for the PlayStation 4, where Sony reportedly sold through over 2-million consoles over the long weekend according to Ubisoft and was also the most successful week of sales in the UK since the console's launch in 2013. Nintendo Switch will play Gamecube titles
According to reports from Eurogamer, the new Nintendo Switch will be able to play Gamecube titles through a virtual console program. There are so far three Nintendo-published GameCube games that are reportedly in the pipeline for the Switch's virtual console and in a shock to no one they are some of the console's best games, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Reports also indicate that the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing is also being tested for the Switch as well. A virtual console with the ability to play Gamecube titles is a feature that the Wii U did not feature, and it's also being claimed that there will be an upgrade program where people who bought games via the virtual console on an older console can "upgrade" them to the new hardware for a small price.
