Superdata estimates Nintendo has sold 1.5-milliion Switch consoles worldwide

The analyst firm has compiled the estimated 500,000 US Sales, 360,000 Japanese Sales and data from across Europe including 80,000 in the UK and 110,000 in France to publish the figure. Nintendo had previously stated it hoped to sell 2-million units by the end of March. Superdata has also estimated that 89% of all Switch owners have purchased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a huge driver for the platform. Soedesco to publish new new action RPG IP AereA

AereA, the companies second original IP, will be published this Winter on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The title, a music-themed action RPG, is being developed by Triangle Studios and will be the first instalment in a planned series. Full story MCV UK.

Starbreeze will publish System Shock 3

The Swedish publisher has reached an agreement with Otherside Entertainment and will invest $12-million into the title, it says it will be able to recoup 120% of this investment including marketing expenses. Otherside will retain full ownership of the IP.

Bo Andersson-Klint, Starbreeze CEO said , "System Shock is one of those iconic franchises in the history of games that still gets my blood going and Mr. Spector is one of the founding fathers of the modern action RPG." Full story MCV UK

Kinda Funny Games' Colin Moriarty resigns

Colin Moriarty, one of the three founders of Kinda Funny Games has resigned, a week after a controversial tweet, his resignation is considered "effective immediately," according to a Facebook post. Moriarty wrote, "This morning, the guys and I had a constructive conversation, and feel that, with our separate visions for the future and for the direction of the company, it's time to go our separate ways." His post however did not address the Tweet he made on International Women's Day - "Ah. Peace and quiet.#ADayWithoutAWoman". It is not known how his resignation will affect content moving forward with Colin actively involved in a number of programs. Full story Games Industry.
