An ANZ Championship for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, HearthStone: Heroes of Warcraft and Halo 5: Guardians will be played out this year.
ESL Australia, the regional branch of global esports tournament organiser ESL, announced late last week, the introduction of a premier eSports competition 'ESL ANZ Championship'. The championship will be spread across two seasons.
In Season One Teams and Players across Australia and New Zealand are able to qualify through Open Qualifiers held throughout the year online leading to online Finals and live audience Finals at ESL Australia's studio home base in Sydney.
The championship boasts collective prize pools totalling over 50,000 across the year, the ESL ANZ Championship will feature Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, HearthStone: Heroes of Warcraft and Halo 5: Guardians.
In addition, ESL Australia will be working together with ESEA and will utilize ESEA's market leading anti-cheat platform for the CS:GO competition. Further details about Season Two’s tournament dates and Finals locations will be released in coming months.
