In a marathon stream that took place on Twitch TV, the 30 hours livestream marathon raised $6500 in 30 hours.

As reported last week, the charity event GenerOZity took place this past weekend in Sydney. Put together by Letofski, Joel (AKA FatVox) and Michael (AKA GoodPartAU), The event was a 30 hour live streamed marathon, which was broadcast live on their Twitch TV channel, and raised $6500 dollars for Child's Play in that time.

Event organize and livestreamer Letofski had this to say about the event.

"The one thing we didn't expect -- and the thing that blew us away the most -- was the sheer passion of the Australian scene. Our performers came in hours early just to help out, we had viewers who watched the entire 30 hours, and we smashed our initial goal of $4000 by a substantive amount."

Michael, who was the stream producer for the vast majority of the event, had this to add.

"Although we were optimistic, we really had no idea how GenerOZity would pan out prior to the event. For it to have raised so much money for a wonderful cause, and to have been so well received from our community was incredibly humbling. From the organisers to the performers, to the donors, to the viewers - I can't thank them enough for being a part of it."

One of the highlights of the event was the 3 hours block of The Sims 4 that featured popular Youtubers and Twitch streamers JamesTurnerYT and Deligracy that took place on Saturday night. Over those 3 hours, almost half of the final total was raised.

James had this to say about the amazing generosity shown during the stream.

"'I'm so proud of what we managed to achieve, our audience really brought their A game to support a fantastic cause."
