Happy Birthday to Tottenham's super little Argentinian World Cup winner Ossie Ardiles who was born in 1952 and celebrates his 62nd birthday today.
On this day in 2005 Tottenham signed Dutch midfield legend Edgar Davids from Inter on a free transfer.

Sky Sports Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Spurs are taking an interest in 27-year-old Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca.
He is a Colombian valued by the Spanish side at £15.7m (€20m) which as they tend to quote high prices sounds almost reasonable.
He scored 14 goals in 35 league appearances although he only completed 90 minutes 8 times. He seems to score in bursts but did score in 12 separate games, including a spell of 5 goals in 6 games.
Spanish daily sports paper Marca labelled him the best signing of the 2013/14 season above Gareth Bale. Bacca has a contract until 2018 so it sounds unlikely we would be after him when we want proven Premier League players and both Remy and Bony have not signed for anyone yet.
As you know by now we have our full quota of non-home grown players in our Premier League squad so it's essential we offload before we bring any more in or we'll simply have to pay their wages and we won't be allowed to play them.

Tottenham target Mateo Musacchio didn't play for Villarreal in their friendly against Middlesborough, he was in the squad to start with. They fly back this afternoon to Spain and return next week to play Swansea. Plenty of coverage in the Spanish media about this so it looks like we are trying for him in earnest.
While on the subject of Spain Liverpool have gone back in for Sevilla's left-back Alberto Moreno with a better offer after Ben Davies turned them down to come to Spurs. The bid id thought to be £11.97 million (€15m) the same as before but with an additional £1.2 million (€1.5m) add-ons, still short of their £15.16 million (€19m) asking price.

Moronic Newcastle United and West Ham United fans had a fight in Dusseldorf, Germany with 21 arrested. Well done, raise the image of English football fans abroad why don't you. Both clubs are there for a pre-season tournament, the last time they will probably be invited back to the area.
A Polizeipräsidium Düsseldorf explained.
"There were 300 English fans in the city centre. The fans from both clubs met and first of all they had some beers on their own, and when they met the other club there has been some verbal arguments. After that they had a psychical fight.
"We put 100 policemen in the city centre so that things would calm down and it calmed down very fast but we made 21 short term arrests."
