ABU DHABI, 15th August 2015 (WAM) - Some 1,450 students from various schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain have recently completed the three-week long "Injaz" activity as part of Abu Dhabi Education Council’s 13th edition of the summer programme, dubbed "Sayfuna Mumayaz", aimed at enhancing creative talents and innovative skills in English Language, IELTS preparation, Entrepreneurship, and a Future Leaders course.

Attending the programs’ closing ceremony at Abu Dhabi University campus, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri Abu Dhabi Education Council’s Executive Director of School Operations commended the University’s strategic partnership with ADEC and its continuous efforts in ensuring the program’s success as evident in Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group’s achievement of attracting around 18,250 students in the program since 2008.

"Sayfuna Mumayaz represents a national initiative that hones youths’ talents and instills within them the importance and value of innovation and creativity in accordance with the best international practices. Our aim is to develop a strong foundation of internationally competent innovative human capital specialized in various disciplines", explained Al Dhaheri.

Al Dhaheri went on to praise the support that President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces extend to the education sector. As well as their Highnesses’ keenness in providing a modern educational system, that keeps pace with the challenges of the 21st century.

Al Dhaheri also praised the support extended to the "Sayfuna Mumayaz" initiative by H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE, and his directives that the program should be an incubator that nurtures talents of young Emirati innovators in school.

Al Dhaheri added: "The Sayfuna Mumayaz program has also received extensive support from Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), especially with the addition of new activities that have enhanced the participating students’ creative and technical initiatives".

Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s Executive Board expressed ADU’s pride in its fruitful partnership with ADEC on the "Sayfuna Mumayaz" initiative. "This strategic partnership contributed to attracting 1450 male and female students to this year’s edition of the program to study English Language, IELTS preparation, Entrepreneurship, and a Future Leaders course", said bin Harmal.

"Our contribution to the unique ‘Sayuna Mumayaz’ initiative translates the directives H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents, that ADU becomes a beacon of creativity and knowledge through its variety of 31 undergraduate 18 postgraduate programs in addition to the prestigious DBA.

These programs are designed to match the needs of the policy agenda of Abu Dhabi’s Government and its Economic Vision 2030, and in turn, graduates of these programs will be able to contribute to the nation’s development process and its transition into a knowledge-based society", concluded Bin Harmal.

During Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri’s visit to the Abu Dhabi University campus, he awarded the winning students of the programs’ "Creative projects Competition" in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Badr CEO of Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG), Humaid Abdullah, ADEC's Student Services Division Manager, and Nasser Khamis, ADEC's Extracurricular Activity Section Manager.
