Following on from the recent success of UK down-tempo hate crew Black Tongue, an uprising of disgustingly heaviness has been sure to follow. Originally reminding me of The Acacia Strain, there are infact multiple elements of their own ideas thrown into this bludgeoning mix. Almost sounding like one gigantic breakdown throughout the EP’s initial course, destruction is sure to be had by this Florida quintet known as Traitors.

‘Product of Hate‘ reigns chaotically, like a mace smashing into the face of any living creature standing in the path of this brutal, yet deathcore approved track which features Black Tongue‘s very own Alex Teyen on guest vocals. The down tempo build ups create an atmosphere of absolute devastation; An evolution on the death metal and hardcore genres that only few bands are able to surpass.
Standout song ‘False Intelligence‘ also features a guest vocalist, Luke Griffin from Acrania. If you’re familiar with Acrania you’ll appreciate the wide variety these vocals are able to add onto the ending of this track. Luke’s pig squeals and death metal vocal collection truly develop the entire EP as fascinating, and increasingly brutal.
If the EP wasn’t heavy enough already, ending track ‘Dead Nerve‘ truly pummels the listener’s ear drums – whilst not adding anything new to the EP, there really isn’t any need to increase the EP’s variety as the fifteen minutes it serves is enough to keep every listener completely interested and mind-boggled.
Throughout each enormous breakdown on this release there becomes more spine-tingling consequences. Shivers of excitement go hand in hand with every listen, as this genre progresses into something powerful, and soon-to-be increasingly popular by demand. Traitors‘ music is best described by their goliath beefy riffs, as well as their engulfing and vicious vocals. The music itself is enough to scare your grandma into the grave, and that’s before she’s even heard Alex and Luke’s guest spots – which I believe finish this EP off brilliantly.
