The collective will be accompanied by the British Paraorchestra, the world’s first professional ensemble of disabled musicians. The Pulp frontman will team up with British conductor Charles Hazlewood for the gig at Bristol’s Colston Hall on December 1 alongside Portishead’s Adrian Utley and Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory to celebrate the 50th anniversary year of the science-fiction puppet series. The special concert is a one-off event, scheduled only to be performed to mark the 50th anniversary celebrations of Thunderbirds’ first transmission.

The show will also feature theme music from Gerry Anderson’s other 1960s television shows including Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons.

Jarvis Cocker has announced plans to play a one-off gig featuring music from the The Thunderbirds.

A statement issued by Hazelwood reads: “We will be bringing back to life all the iconic hits of composer Barry Gray, in the 50th anniversary year of the launch of Thunderbirds.
