We went to St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada again for a few days to visit our son, daughter in law and Grandchildren. We were there in 2011 the last time. The weather was much better this time and we really enjoyed our grandsons as they had grown so much.

“St. John’s, our province’s capital, is the perfect combination of big-city luxury and small-town charm. As the oldest and most easterly city in North America, this is where heritage lives. Melded with culture, history, and personality, St. John’s has survived two World Wars, five centuries, countless hardships and triumphs. It’s become a rare, old city full of character, experience and charisma, with a contemporary, sophisticated edge.” –Newfoundland and Labrador

We all visited Bell Island again by Ferry and were fortunate enough to pick wild strawberries. We also had a great fish and chips at “Dicks’s Fish and Chips“, which we can highly recommend. “Situated on the beach, next to the ferry terminal, this is an ideal place to start or end your visit to Bell Island.” – Bell Island.net

“Bell Island is in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is the largest of several islands in Conception Bay, measuring about 9 km by 3.5 km. From the province’s capital St. John’s, the oldest city in North America, it’s a 20-minute drive to the ferry terminal at Portugal Cove, then a 20-minute ferry ride to Bell Island. ” – Bell Island
