[An] item of interest in last week’s Disinfo Review is the following, featuring Pepe Escobar, The Strategic Culture Foundation, and the hysterically named New World Order Opposition.

Escobar
This item is interesting for a number of reasons. Escobar, in addition to providing grist for the Kremlin disinfo mill, sits at the center of a number of social networks associated with information operations of Russia and Iran. Most recently Escobar has turned up in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as a hub in the network of Russia’s American recruit Russell Bentley, and the ground in Donbass with one of the Kremlin’s favorite Finnish tools Janus Putkonen.
strategic-culture.org
The Strategic Culture Foundation appears to be firmly rooted in Moscow, and closely aligns itself with the Centre for Research on Globalization in Canada, and with the Communist Party of China’s 4th Media operation. The domain was recently transferred to a Russian whois proxy service, but most likely remains in the hands of Andrej G. Areshev, lately of Moscow. The project leases a server provided by Saint-Petersburg, Russia, company FastVPS a/k/a FastVPS24. It is noteworthy that the server itself appears to reside in Estonia, on an IP address (5.101.113.66) assigned to Pavel Odintsov who is d/b/a fastvps.ee. Odintsov also appears to reside in Estonia.
nwoo.org
That this site makes the effort to promptly translate and post a Czech version of Escobar’s screed is perhaps the most interesting element. Beyond that, it is hosted in the Czech Republic on a dedicated IP address (81.2.216.102). The domain name has been held in turn by Vilhem Komodor and Josef Czechacek, and was registered in 2008, making it a rather old site in this context.
