Ajith Kumar is a Indian film actor who has acted in many Tamil and Telugu movies. He has started his film career at the age of 21 appearing in a Telugu film, Prema Pustakam in 1992. He is well recognised for his work when he played triple role in movie Varalaru (Tamil) and also for his sensitive character in Kireedam. He has won 4 Filmfare Best Actor Awards, 3 for films which showcased him in multiple roles. He is one of leading actors working predominantly in Tamil cinema with more than 60,000 fan clubs throughout Tamil Nadu. Ajith also had a small role as Asokas brother in Shah Rukh Khans Asoka (Hindi) in 2001.

Ajith Kumar was born on 1 May 1971 in Secunderabad, Telangana. He went to Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School and dropped out of school to pursue his career in car racing. He is professional race driver and took part in 2004 British Formula as a Formula Two racing driver. He was ranked as the third best race driver in India. Ajith Kumar took part in 2003 Formula Asia BMW Championships and 2010 Formula 2 Championship. After injuring himself in an accident he started to put more attention to his modeling and film career. Ajith was listed No. 51 in Forbes India’s Top 100 Celebrities for the Year 2014, jumped 10 spots from No. 61 in Year 2012. Currently, he is one of the most searched actors on Google in Karnataka.

Ajith Kumar was born to P.Subramaniam and Mohini in a Tamil Brahmin family. He has two brothers, Anil and Anup. His elder brother Anoop Kumar is a stockbroker and younger brother Anil Kumar is an engineer. He had younger twin sisters, both of whom died young. He is married to actress Shalini. They have a baby girl called Anoushka. Ajith is the brother-in-law to actor Richard Rishi and actress Shamili.

Ajith Kumar dated his co-star Shalini during the filming of Amarkalam in 1999. The couple got married in 2000 according to the customs of both Hindu and Christian religions. Career
Ajith Kumar has began his career as a supporting actor in a Telugu film before gaining critical recognition in the Tamil thriller Aasai (1995). Before his career in films, he took up work as a two wheeler auto mechanic, and got himself a driver’s license to coincide with his interests in car and bike racing.
Racing
Ajith is very much keen in racing and has driven in circuits around India in places such as Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. He is one among very few Indians to race in International arena and only Indian actor to compete in Formula championships. He drove in the 2003 Formula Asia BMW Championships. He raced in the 2010 Formula 2 Championship along with two other Indians, Armaan Ebrahim and Parthiva Sureshwaren. He took this bike ride from Chennai to Bangalore on 18 August 2013 in order to create awareness of safety driving.
