NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (5-3, 3-2 G-MAC) defeated Alderson Broaddus University (1-4-1, 1-3-1 G-MAC) by a score of 3-0 at the Trojan Soccer Complex. The Trojans are 4-1-1 against the Battlers all-time.
The Trojans controlled the ball early but did not convert until the 17th (16:40) minute when Hannah Barney (JR/Mission Viejo, CA) scored on a pass from Sophie Callis (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) putting the Trojans up 1-0. Soon after that first goal Isabella Oviedo (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) sent a pass to Chelsey Russom (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) who put it in the back of the goal for a 2-0 Trojan in the 24th minute.
After the half Trevecca got a goal in the 68th minute (67:01) when Lauren Winters (JR/Joelton, TN) sent a cross to Sophie Callis who scored in the box to put the Trojans up 3-0. Sophie had a three point game with a goal and an assist to lead the Trojans.
Trevecca returns to action on Saturday the 24th at 1:30 PM when the Trojans host the Davis and Elkins Senators (2-3, 2-1 G-MAC). The Trojans are 1-1-2 overall against the Senators winning the last meeting.
