'''Number of years in practice:''' 4 years
'''Number of years in practice with patients who have TMS:''' 4 years
'''Number of patients you have seen who have had TMS:''' a dozen as a clinician and many more as a coach before I became a therapist
'''What is your association to the TMS community?:''' I have been an active member of the TMShelp.org website for a number of years as a sufferer of TMS. I am familiar with Dr. Schecter’s work, Dr. Schubiner’s online program, Dr. Brady’s writings and many other TMS professional’s contributions. I attended the TMS Symposium for professionals at UCLA in 2010.
'''Have you ever suffered from TMS?''' Yes. I have had a myriad of symptoms over the years. I may be representative of a type of TMS client for whom the symptom imperative is rampant and aggressive! To list a few issues: back pain, shoulder pain, nerve pain, dizziness, migraines, numbness, tooth pain, IBS, stomach aches, acne, psoriasis, anxiety symptoms.
'''Are you able to conduct therapy sessions over the phone?''' At this time, I am only able to conduct therapy in my office and coaching via Skype. '''What insurance plans do you currently accept?''' I provide all my clients with a super-bill for insurance.
'''Do you have a sliding scale of payment for people who are not covered by insurance?:''' Yes. I’d be happy to talk to a potential client about payment options.
'''What have you done to educate yourself about TMS, and what plans do you have for further education about TMS?:''' I continue to read literature on TMS and am planning on going to the next symposium for TMS in 2013. I am constantly looking for ways to incorporate new modalities into dealing with TMS such as psychodrama.
'''As we are going to post your answers on the TMS Wiki, feel free to write some text to introduce yourself:''' Hello, My name is Andrew Miller. I am a registered Marriage Family Therapist Intern (MFTI) and a TMS/PPD sufferer. I have over a decade of experience with TMS as both a patient and as a clinician. As a clinician, I received my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles. Incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and psychodramatic techniques, I have helped my clients reduce TMS/PPD symptoms, more masterfully deal with difficult emotions, and more skillfully cope with life’s adversity. Currently I work in private practice in Beverly Hills and run groups at treatment centers across Los Angeles.
