==Call-In TMS Discussion Group==

+

The call-in discussion group provides a space where people can deepen their understanding of TMS through discussion with others. This discussion group is unique in that, although it is held online, it is a live, vocal discussion. Each week the group focuses on a particular section of a TMS book, decided upon the week before. Some participants read along with this schedule; others join the conversation to discuss other TMS-related issues. Anyone is welcome to join the conversation, whether they have read any of that week's (or previous weeks') chapters or not. The goal is to foster a lively discussion among peers.

+

+

Although the group officially starts at 2:00pm (EST), we encourage people, particularly those connecting on their computer, to start connecting at 1:45pm so we can handle any technical difficulties before the discussion begins.

===Connection Details===

+

The Call-In Discussion Group uses both a regular online chatroom as well as an audio call (where the majority of the discussion takes place) for its format. To join the chatroom, simply go to http://www.tmswiki.org/chat, scroll down, and follow the instructions there.

+

+

Connecting to the audio call involves a few more steps. You can connect using a normal telephone, or using your computer through an application called Fuze Meeting, which we also use for our [[TMS Webinars
|
special webinar events]]. We encourage you to connect using your computer/Fuze Meeting, as it will allow you to see other attendees who are using their webcams, give you the option to use your own webcam, will save you any potential long distance charges, may have a better connection and clearer audio quality, and can also provide you with a more comfortable experience during the discussion.

+

+

''Starting a bit before 2:00, a well as during the discussion someone will be in the [http://www.tmswiki.org/chat chatroom] to provide technical support if necessary.''

====To Connect Using Fuze Meeting===

'''Installation Instructions'''

+

If you do not have Fuze Meeting installed on your computer, and you want to join the discussion group using your computer, make sure you download it
in
advance (we suggest at least a day). It's free, and 100% safe, and incredibly easy. Here's how:

+

# Click on '''[https://www.fuzemeeting.com/fuze/48fb7aa8/18311499 this link]''' (this is also
the
link to connect to the meeting)

+

# You will see a screen asking you to join a meeting. '''''Please note: you are not joining a meeting at this time.''''' Feel free to enter something completely random, and click "Join as Attendee" to continue.

+

# On the next screen, click on the "Download" button to begin the installation process. '''''Please do not use the "Join via Browser"''''' option during the discussion group, as we have tested this option and it does not work well at all.'''''

+

# Follow your computer's instructions to finish installing Fuze Meeting. Keep in mind that although this is an application downloaded from the internet, it is completely safe to install.

+

+

'''Connection Instructions'''

+

After you have installed Fuze Meeting, connecting to the call
-
in discussion group is easy. Simply follow these instructions:

+

# Click on '''
[
https
:
//www
.
fuzemeeting.com/fuze/48fb7aa8/18311499 this link
]
'''. This should launch the Fuze Meeting application on your computer.

+

# Click on "Join Meeting." If Fuze Meeting asks, the meeting number is '''18311499'''.

+

# When prompted, enter your name, or a preferred pseudonym, click "Join as Attendee," and wait for the host, [http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/members/forest.6/ Forest
]
,
to
let you enter (this should take less than a minute).

+

# Once in Fuze Meeting, a window titled "Call Info" should appear. (If not, you can open it by clicking on
the
blue "Call Info" link, which is located next to the white text, "Call Attendees.") Select '''VoIP''', follow the steps after that,
and
then you should be fully connected to the audio.

+

+

====To Connect Using Your Phone====

+

If you are more comfortable using your phone, that is completely fine as well. However, please be aware that rates may apply based on your location and telephone provider. Here's how to join the discussion using your phone:

+

# Dial '''1 646 583 7415'''.

+

# When prompted, enter the pin code '''21558901'''.

+

+

==Drop-In Chatroom==

+

Following the discussion group is the drop-in chat, also held at http://www.tmswiki.org/chat, where attendees can both get and give tips and support. Whereas the voice-based discussion group is relatively new, we have been holding the drop-in chat every Saturday without interruption since October
of
2011. Over time, it has just gotten better and better, with a group of regulars showing up every week. Each chat has an official moderator (often more than one), who welcomes newcomers, provides technical assistance, and periodically checks to make sure everyone is given a chance to ask questions or make comments.
