Wow!!! What an intense teaser trailer. Still did not give us very much, but sadly we always knew deep down we would be waiting till October to see who got the holy head beat/killed out of them. I still say that we will be saying goodbye to our beloved Glenn, but that is just my opinion. Enjoy this present from Comic-Con 2016. From AMC and executive producer Scott M. Gimple comes the bloody and chilling look at the continuing aftermath at the end of the world… The Walking Dead
Nick “Danger” Doran’s Take: As predicted this trailer avoided showing the possible 11 victims. Instead it focused a lot on Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) and his gang, The Saviors. This trailer would make it appear that Negan and The Saviors will be keeping close tabs on the Alexandria crew in season 7. I am OK with more Negan, seeing as my season 6 finale beef is with show runner Scott M. Gimple and not Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Jeffery Dean Morgan was in fact amazing in the finale. There are also a lot of questions that the fans have about The Saviors, so I will enjoy learning more about this gritty gang and their strict codes they live by. The most exciting part of this trailer was the introduction of Ezekiel, The Kingdom and Shiva. For those who don’t read the comic, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) is the leader of a 4th community called The Kingdom. We got a hint of this in season 6 when Morgan (Lennie James) encountered one of their members and his horse. As for Shiva, she is Ezekiel’s pet tiger. That is right, he has a frickin’ tiger and AMC is making that happen. So even though I am still upset at the finale shenanigans, lets just say Shiva did a lot to start the healing process.
“After running and fighting for years now, Rick Grimes and the group are faced with the most dangerous obstacle they have ever had to face including the walkers. Before them is a man named Negan and his psychotic group of followers known as “The Saviors.” Caught red handed, they must now work for this man and as punishment for their transgressions they must watch as one of their own is beaten to death.”
