DOCTOR WHO THE ELEVENTH DOCTOR YEAR TWO #9 (Titan) – Reviewed by Ed “Silver-Aged” Garrett: Well now, I didn’t see THIS one coming! In an excellent storyline, Si Spurrier has managed to pull off a terrific swerve (no spoiliers, okay, just trust me on this one). Someone hasn’t earned their place… But, it IS a great story, with excellent illustrations by Leandro Casco with colors by Rodrigo Fernandes. 8/10
LUMBERJANES #26 (BOOM! Box) – Reviewed by Ed “Silver-Aged” Garrett: With Rosie taken away by a giant bird, it’s up to Jen and the Lumberjanes to save her. Easy as pie, right? Of course not – nothing is easy in this series, but everything is amazing as the Lumberjanes go off on another impossible mission. Shannon Watters and Kate Leyh script this story, with illustrations by Ayme Sotuyo and colors by Maarta Laiho. 8/10
CITIZEN JACK #6 (Image) – Reviewed by Ed “Silver-Aged” Garrett: The election results are in! Did a crazed idiot with absolutely no talent or intelligence win the Presidency? No, wait, I’m not talking about Trump (at least not in THIS comic, although…). But, there may be a LOT more at stake in the election in this amazing and perfectly timed series by Sam Humpries (script) and Tommy Patterson (art, with colors by Jon Alderink and letters by Rachel Deering). We left reality a long time ago (or not) in CITIZEN JACK, and this issue tells reality as we know it to get bent and bugger off. It’s a great read! 8/10
SECOND SIGHT #4 (Aftershock) – Reviewed by Ed “Silver-Aged” Garrett: This is one of the most disturbing…and entertaining titles you’ll read this year. Ray and his daughter Toni still don’t know just how much danger they are in…and that goes double for everyone around them. There is a concerted effort to keep them from getting to the bottom of this mystery, and the powerful people involved have no problem with killing to protect their secrets. This is an outstanding thriller, scripted flawlessly by David Hine and illustrated by Alberto Ponticelli, with colors by John Kalisz. 8/10
