Hello, natural beauty lovers!

First, I have to say – I’ve received so many compliments and exciting comments about the expanded beauty section of TLV Birdie blog, I couldn’t even imagine how many of you are interested in healthy, natural recipes inspired skincare and beauty! I haven’t even thought about to receive a bit of the feedback you guys gave me along with your love and all the kind words since the New Year. As I’ve already said about my plans on discovering and bringing amazing green beauty brands to the blog, but I’ve also mentioned in my New Years resolutions that I kinda prefer less plans during this year. With that being said, please don’t think from now on I only write about beauty, bottles and cremes. We’ll see where it goes eventually, but at the moment I really enjoy the subject by all aspects. From the professional point of view – styling and shooting beauty items fascinates me, and from the personal point as well, as I’ve mentioned in this post, I really want to make a switch to a better self, both in “inner beauty and outer care”.

Today I want to introduce you all to one amazing natural skincare brand whose phrase I borrowed to finish the last sentence. Welcome BLISSOMA, green beauty brand that uses a holistic and science based approach to natural skincare. Following their moto “Inner beauty. Outer care.™” (that feels very close to me personally), seems like Blissoma found a great mixture of natural ingredients and revolutionary formulas that are spiced up with just the right doze of ethics and sensitiveness they proudly carry for their products in particular and the outside world in general. All the Blissoma products are made from raw organic herbs, fruits, juices and botanical oils, 100% natural, certified vegan and cruelty free. Things you won’t find in Blissoma products : gluten, nuts, parabens, petrochemicals and artificial fragrance. First time I’ve landed on Blissoma skin care website, I got sort of lost in the wide selection of products they offer for every skin type and particular skincare concerns – normal/combination, acneic/oily, ultra sensitive/reactvie or mature/dry/anti-aging. One unspoken bonus you can also get from Blissoma is their customer care. I intentionally didn’t use the word “service”, because “care” comes from heart – and that is exactly what you will receive along with answers on your product related questions, plus some product usage instructions and always transparent ingredients list.

Let’s talk about the core facial products first.

By CORE I mean those products that you build your morning and evening skin care rituals on. Those products that take a privileged place on your bathroom shelf. Honestly, I am still looking for those. I admit it is THE process, and not the easiest one. That is why I saved some space for Blissoma Travel Skincare Set for ultra sensitive/reactive skin. This set contains 4 products : Free Herbal gel cleanser (.5 oz), Pure Sensitive skin complex (.5 oz), Lavish Loving recovery mask (.5 oz) and Amend Facial solar repair serum (.125 oz), that are thoughtfully packed in an organic cotton cosmetic case. Travel sizes are just the best for trying out new facial products (especially if you have the same damn sensitive skin as I do), and obviously if you’re heading somewhere and extra pounds of bottles are just irrational.

The core facial ritual that I did together with Blissoma Travel Skincare set:

First come, first served was the Free Herbal Gel cleanser, that also effectively preforms as makeup remover. That was already a triumph when my mascara failed the battle in countless seconds, – no need to disturb and rub the sensitive skin around the eyes to remove the settled in makeup. One gentle massage session with warm water and all the day’s dirt is wiped away, skin is moistened and healed with the natural ingredients. I don’t know how this secret agent 007 does that, because I barely felt it on my skin – the texture is super light, almost fragrance-free and no aftertaste of irritation or tightness.

Among ingredients: glycerin, Yerba mate, Alfalfa, Raspberry leaf, Plantain, Cornflowers, Olive leaf, Linden, Ecocert vegetable source cleanser, Grapeseed oil etc (see the full list of ingredients here).

After a good cleanse, comes good toning ( I’ve previously advised on this one from Raaw in a jar and this one from Lush) and the super important part of the day – moisturizing! The Pure sensitive skin soothing complex had me at the moment I’ve opened the bottle. Considering the fact it contains no artificial fragrance, I totally believe it’s a miracle – that flower-honey-milky scent (on my face) and a sweet fairytale meadow it takes me to (in my mind). A great solution for sensitive skin – evens the redness, soothes the dry patches and heals all the way. Rich on natural anti-oxidants (Camellia oil), Omegas 3 and 6, vitamins A, C, D,E and Zinc, minerals and active organic oil based ingredients that aim to calm, sooth, reduce inflammation, strengthen capillaries (Rutin takes care of that) and treat the other special needs of sensitive skin. It may not absorbs in a second, so give a moment for your skin to soak in all the good stuff.

Among ingredients: Pumpkin seed oil, Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Calendula, Red clover, Butcher’s broom, Radish root, Camellia oil, Tamanu oil, Baobab oil, plantain, Marshmallow etc (see the full list of ingredients here).

For the extra treatment against premature skin aging Blissoma sensitive skin care set includes Amend Facial Solar repair anti-aging serum. 100% natural botanical extracts based recipe includes 14 active ingredients that all aim to protect the skin, defend it from the outside world and heal the UV damage that your skin gathered in years. It also contains Pomella® pomegranate extract that is a powerful anti-oxidant, collagen synthesis natural stimulator, it also has been effective proven as an operative component that prevents UVA and UVB related cell damage. We all enjoy sun, but need to take measures. This serum is advised to apply on face and neck right after you’ve finished with the cleansing and toning stages. I’ve been using it once a day in my morning routine, before applying the soothing creme complex I’ve wrote just above. Definitely looking forward to going for a full size of the Amend serum, as I want my skin to speak for my age, not the opposite. Wink wink.

Among ingredients: Rooibos, Dandelion, Club moss, Heather flowers extract, Aloe barbandensis juice, Water, Radish root ferment filtrate, Jojoba oil, Acai oil, Cranberry seed oil, Linden extract, coenzyme Q10, Pomegranate extract etc (see the full list of ingredients here).

Here we are, definitely one of the most lovable products I’ve used during this winter season – Lavish Loving Recovery Beta Glucan mask. Who am I to complain about the rough winter weather while soaking the friendly californian sun all year round, you would say. Well, we had a few weeks of a really chill nights and days. But it’s not just that, the dry patches on the face tend to happen on sensitive skin regardless outside temperature. Packed with oat milk, cupuacu butter, two kinds of herbal mushrooms – reishi and maitake (well known for their healing properties especially in asian medicine) and 18 active components such as Omegas 3,5,6, Vitamins A,E,C,F and Zinc, Beta Glucans and Phytosterols this creamy, very light mask provides a proper hydration and healing activity where it is needed. Very calming and very pampering, this treatment may be the best 10 minutes of your Sunday. I personally tried the Lavish mask only twice, but the comfort that my skin felt immediately after this beauty ritual raised the chances I’ll be back using it. The sample size that comes inside the Travel Skincare set would probably be enough for 4-5 treatments, and the full size Lavish mask is enough for approximately 2 months of once a week usage. A little tip: this mask can be also applied as a leave-on overnight treatment for dry/sensitive zones. I’ve been sick all the last week, and my nose was all rubbed and dry from paper napkins (sorry for the details), so I needed some extra-targeted care and I came across this advise on the product’s page. So thankful for the fast 100% natural remedy.

Among ingredients: Oat kernal milk, Passionflower, Astragalus, Plantain, Nori Seaweed, Vegetable origin Glycerin, Apricot oil, Pumpkinseed oil, Baobab Oil, Pomegranate seed oil, Aspen bark extract etc (see the full list of ingredients here).

Some extra love and care from Blissoma:

I personally have a thing for powder formulated products (remember my review on the May Lindstrom Skin The Problem Solver masque?), so I was extremely happy to discover Glow Good Earth Exfoliant Powder. This product totally takes the most privileged place on my bathroom shelf that I’ve mentioned in the beginning of this post, hands down. The Glow exfoliant powder was carefully created for dull (well,yeah..), combination (absolutely yes), congested (guilty), hyper pigmented (partly) and mature (well, not exactly and don’t really want to go there) skin type. It feels like an energy shot for my skin, and the ingredients list prove it’s blissful properties. Vitamin C, fruit enzymes, minerals and anti-oxidants act together to reveal the inner glow that is hiding somewhere deep in the skin level. Powder texture is formulated the way it keeps all the ingredients fresh and full of potential till you activate the powder with water. All you need to do is to place a 1/2 tsp of Glow Exfoliant powder to a palm of your hand, wet it with a little amount of water to create a paste and apply to wet skin with light massage. Take a moment here, gently rub the skin up to 3 mins (just as a regular scrub procedure) avoiding the eye area, remove with warm water and finish with the moisturizer. This product reminded me of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant that I used to love back in the days (when I had no understanding about salicylic acid), never the less Glow powder is a winning choice for me, more natural and honestly, more affordable.

Among ingredients: Oat powder, Coconut water, Papain, Ascorbic acid, Acacia gum, Bentonite, Olive leaf, Brown rice, Green coffee extract etc (see the full list of ingredients here).

This little bottle I am going to finish my Blissoma skin care review with is real gem, with an endless list of organic oils and natural components that all skin types and ages could unconditionally benefit from – Restore Deep Healing Oil serum. As a newly converted fan of essential oils I am sky high happy to use this product on a daily basis, and the secret tip is ridiculously simple. All I do to provide my skin with an extra boost of vitamins to calm it down and to supply with natural rebuilding compounds, I simply add a few drops of the Restore oil serum every time I apply the Soothing creme complex – win win situation. I enjoy to treat my face like this before going to bed, this rich texture needs some more absorption time but still leaves no greasy or heavy feel. A-mazing smell! Can be also applied separately (oh, indeed!) and can be a great asset for around eye area (pat gently!).

Among ingredients: Grape seed oil, Jojoba oil, Evening primrose oil, Red raspberry oil, Rosehip oil, Cranberry seed oil, Tamanu oil, Hemp oil, Pomegranate seed oil etc (see the full list of ingredients here).
