1.    PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

One of the finest novel of Jane Austen, it was first published in 1813.It is a story how protagonist Elizabeth Bennet deals with her parents upbringing, manners, education and most importantly with her marriage in the society of royal English people of 19th century of England. Elizabeth is second among the five Bennet sisters in Netherfield estate in Hertfordshire near London. When Charles Bingley, a wealthy man shits in the neighborhood Mrs. Bennet dreams one of her daughter to marry him. They go to different balls and parties but they always end up with public display of poor manners and decorum. It finally ends with the marriage of Jane and Elizabeth after various ups and downs. The book has sold some 20 million copies worldwide.



2.    LOVE STORY

It is one of the most popular romantic novel by an American Writer Erich Segal and was published on February 14, 1970.It is set in 1970’s and is a romantic, humorous and tragic novel. It is a story where the love of two college students help them to overcome all hurdles in their lives. It is a story where two people from completely two different worlds fall in love together in most unexpected way. Oliver Barrett is a Harvard Law School guy and is an heir to the wealthy legacy whereas Jennifer Cavilleri a music major studying at Radcliffe College planned to study in Paris. They marry against Oliver’s father wish and strive the conditions financially. Later it is developed that Jenny is suffering from Leukemia but Oliver tries his best to save her but at the end she dies. But Olivier continues to love her forever.



3.    THE NOTEBOOK

It is written by an American Novelist, Nicholas Sparks. It was published in October 1996. It is a story about enduring power of love and a story of miracles which will leave you spellbound forever. Noah Calhoun and Allie Nelson had met before almost 14 years ago and have spent the summers together. Allie decides to meet Noah after seeing his photograph in newspaper.Allie is about to marry in a week with a lawyer. After meeting they realize they still hold the same feelings for each other which they thought might have dimmed   with the passage of time. With just a week left, Allie needs to decide what she wants. The result is a deeply moving portrait of love itself, the tender moments, and fundamental changes that affect us all.



4.    P.S. I LOVE YOU

It is a novel by an Irish writer Cecelia Ahern and apparently its her first novel. It was published in 2004. The story in Ireland, Holly Kennedy is beautiful and married to the love of her life a passionate, funny and impetuous Gerry. When Gerry dies because of illness Holly, now a widow finds herself facing the world without her soul-mate, Gerry. The story revolves around her pain and hurt, and her struggle to find love and happiness again. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry, so before dying he wrote Holly a series of 10 letters that will guide her, not only through her grief but in rediscovering herself. Each letter sends her on a new adventure which slowly moulds her into a new person, and each letter ended with “P.S. I Love You” (and hence the name). With the help of her warm and supporting family and friends, Holly finally gathers the pieces of her life together, or at least finds the courage to do so.

5.    A WALK TO REMEMBER

It is penned by the famous romantic American novelist, Nicholas Sparks and was published on October 1999.The story revolves around two high school students Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. Jamie is a simple girl who has always carried a Bible with her schoolbooks, she seemed content living in a world apart from the other teens. She took care of her widowed father, rescued hurt animals, and helped out at the local orphanage. After going in the homecoming dance with Landon, she asks him to participate in the school play. Afterwards they fall in love and when Landon confronts it to her she rejects. When he insists for the reason she then tells him she is suffering from Leukemia. Then Landon asks her to marry her so to fulfill her only dream to marry in the church full of people and to have her father walk her down the aisle.

6.    THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

It is a novel by an American writer, John Green and was published on January, 2012. The story is narrated by 16 year old Hazel Grace Lancaster who suffers from cancer and was forced by her parents to attend church support group for cancer where she first lays eye on Augustus Waters, an ex-basketball player. Augustus loses a leg because of cancer and there subsequent meets makes them fall in love. Hazel tells him that she has thyroid cancer that has spread to her lungs. Augustus had osteosarcoma, but he is now cancer-free after having his leg amputated. The basis of their relationship ends up being Hazel’s favorite book, An Imperial Affliction. Augustus and Hazel bond over the book because both of them of a burning desire to find out how the story ends because the author stops the book before providing conclusion on what happens to each of the characters. They travel to Amsterdam to meet writer Peter Van Houten. On their return it is found that Augustus cancer has returned and he dies after some weeks. After sometime Hazel gets a eulogy which he has well- written before his death for her.
