Neon Museum Las Vegas uses the old La Concha motel reception entrance
One of the more unusual of the Las Vegas must see attractions is the Neon Museum. This is located downtown and grew out of a boneyard of old neon signs that had previously been trashed as Las Vegas hotels were went bust, closed down or were destroyed to make way for the next wave of hotels in this ever changing city.
It now has the old and unusual La Concha Motel reception entrance as the museum entrance, and the yard behind it is packed full of signs. They are slowly being restored to show what they looked like, or are grouped together in a series to explain the history of the city or by type. I recommend doing a night tour as then you get to see the signs as they were meant to be seen originally or via clever lighting effects.
The best way of encouraging you to visit this unusual museum is via a series of photos I took. To see all of my photos visit my Neon Museum Photos on Flickr album.
