Holiday Elfstravaganza
The 5th Annual Holiday Elfstravaganza, sponsored by the Towne of Mount Pleasant, Wonder Works, Belle Hall Shopping Center, Harris Teeter and Crayola, is set for Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 9 am to 2 pm. This year’s event will be held at Wonder Works in Belle Hall Shopping Center (624 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464). The entire Charleston community is invited to this free, family event to kick off the holiday season with countless free activities, holiday treats, and the hottest toys of the season. In typical Wonder Works fashion, every child will leave with a free toy.
This year’s Elfstravaganza theme is out of this world: Star Wars. “Since the new movie is coming out in December, Star Wars toys will be huge this holiday season. So Elfstravaganza will not be short of any Star Wars themed activities and surprises,” said Osborne. In fact, the official 501st Legion Carolina Garrison will be at Elfstravaganza for all Star Wars fanatics.
Face painting, writing letters to Santa, decorating cookies, arts and crafts, and more free activities will be available all day for event goers.
National toy companies and local inventors will host toy testing with the hottest toys from Mattel, Crayola, Swurfer, Jelly Belly, Orb Factory, Schylling, Odyssey Toys, Toysmith, License 2 Play, and many more. Of course Elfstravaganza would not be complete without an appearance from Santa’s favorite elf, Chippey. Chanda Bell, author of The Elf on the Shelf®: A Christmas Tradition will sign her new book, Elf Pets®: A Reindeer Tradition, for Elfstravaganza guests. Kids will enjoy live shows by celebrity, teen magician Caleb Alexander and musical performances by local artist Haley Mae Campbell and the Lauren Hall Band.
Local charities will also host activity stations to raise money for their causes including Keys for Hope, Hugs for Harper, Samaritan’s Purse, and MUSC Children’s Hospital.
Harris Teeter will provide free cookies, treats and drinks for everyone in attendance. Parking for Elfstravaganza is available at Belle Hall Shopping Center and Seacoast Church.
