Additional info:

‘FUTURE tense!’ Artistic Director Sasha Wentges is offering audiences an entertaining peek into the future: “With the onset of climate change, wars, and rapidly evolving technologies, our two shows feature a stellar line up of artists exploring with comedic stylings what our future may portend for us: Will it be dystopian or an utopia?” Wentges agrees with Marshall McLuhan when he states, “I think of art, at its most significant, as a DEW line, a Distant Early Warning system that can always be relied on to tell the old culture what is beginning to happen to it.” She invites people to have some fun with their questions, hopes and fears about the future by sending them to The Harbingers via text to 647-599-0194.

The Harbingers (co-hosts Laurie Murphy and Sasha Wentges) and improv troupe Lisa Merchant & Friends are joined by theatre and music artist Rick Miller, performance poet Stephanie Baptist, theatre artist Anna Chatterton, dancer Caitlin Thrasher, designer/futurist Maggie Greyson, and Ronley Teper's Lipliners, a Toronto-based band hot off their European tour, playing live to their Jutra Award-nominated video animations by Davide Di Saro.

‘FUTURE tense!’s production manager is Heather Kilner, assisted by Andrew Kines and Marcella Tomas. Live from the Annex partners and sponsors are Newcomer Kitchen, Analytical Engine Interactive, Westbank Corp (@Mirvish Village), Lee’s Palace, Smokes Poutine, Mea Culpa, MARRAM and Beaus Brewery.
