We’ve seen a lot of think pieces trying to give their opinion on whether the six paneled unstructured cap, affectionately known as the “dad hat,” is overdue to make its way off the fashion stage. We personally disagree as the dad hat is timeless, it’s the original modern hat. It did make us wonder though, is there another style of hat, perhaps one that was more of a fad, that its time to put away. Not just for the next few months but maybe for longer? The fitted cap has always been a staple of bros and tough guys everywhere. So long in fact that it’s become almost as classic a look as the dad hat, but it’s fair to say that fashion is fickle and the fitted cap was so 6 years ago.

Is that fair though? Can you de-throne something that is as engrained in the culture as a fitted cap? Some seemed to think so when fitted cap sales plummeted in favor of the snapback a few years ago and while I wouldn’t say the dad hat has caught on with the same love that the snapback received it surely is the new it style of headwear, save for a brief bucket hat stint thanks to rapper Schoolboy Q. We want to know what you think. Is the fitted cap something that should be worn only by bros and it’s time to put it away in the closet? Or is the fitted cap such a staple of fashion that it doesn’t matter what’s hot now, it will always be waiting?
