*Kruckeberg Leprechaun Hunt – Seattle; 3/28 – 3/31; 10:00am – 5:00pm;  The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is a magical place, just perfect for leprechauns and other enchanted creatures.  Visit them during open hours in March to join our leprechaun hunt. Pick up their leprechaun scavenger hunt at the garden, or download it from our website.

*FreeTête-à-têter At Frye Museum – Seattle; 3/28; 11:00am to 5:00pm; Frye Museum entrance and parking are free all the time. You can check their events page here, for a list of weekly events.

*Snap! Shows for Kids – Seattle; 3/28; 11:15am – 11:45am; Snap! is a series of immersive and inspiring performances. This month features String. Performer Mary Margaret Moore takes young children on a journey of discovery with dance, body language, and simple objects. Limited seating. Advanced tickets recommended. $5.

*Pay-What-You-Can at Seattle Symphony’s “Soundbridge”- Seattle, Beneroya Hall; 3/28; 12:00pm to 4:00pm; Soundbridge is a music discovery center and Friday afternoons are “Pay What You Can” entrance- suggested donation $5 – $15 per family; Ages 2-5, 30 minute interactive storytelling with song & rhythm, dance & musical instruments at 1:45pm.

*Teen Center Sing-Alongs: ‘Pitch Perfect’ – Seattle; 3/28; 4:00pm – 6:45pm; Join us for a weekend of sing-alongs to favorite musicals. Today we’ll be watching “Pitch Perfect,” a 2012 romantic comedy.

*Game Night – Redmond; 3/28; 6:00pm – 8:00pm; Come play classic board games along with “minute to win it” style games. Enjoy food, games, and friends in a friendly, exciting environment. We will provide everything you need for a great night of games and fun!

*Owl Prowl – Bellevue; 3/28; 7:30pm – 9:00pm; Discover which species live in the Pacific Northwest. Then take a night hike with the rangers to look for owls and other nocturnal wildlife in the park.  Bring a flashlight or headlamp, as well as good shoes, for the journey. $5 to $6. Saturday, March 29th:

*Bike Helmet Fitting – Tukwila; 3/29; 10:00am – 1:00pm; Kids ages 1 to 18 can be fit for and receive a FREE bike helmet. One per person, wearer must be present and fitted to receive a helmet. Quantities are limited; first come, first served.

*Breakfast at Pippi’s and Pippi Movie – Seattle; 3/29; 10:00am – 1:30pm;  Dress up as your favorite character from the Pippi stories and enjoy a delicious breakfast of Swedish pancakes complete with live music and dancing for kids. There will also be a craft for children to make. $6, $4 ages 5 to 12, free ages 4 and younger, includes museum admission.  Continue the Pippi celebration with a family viewing of “Pippi on the Run” (dubbed in English) starring Inger Nilsson. Suggested donation of $5 for adults, $3 for children.  No reservations needed.

*Vroom Family Celebration – Tukwila; 3/29; 10:00am – 2:00pm; This fun, free event is ideal for families with kids ages 5 and younger. It features local social service agencies, a magic show, animals, health services information, free food, crafts, story time, music and more.

*Swan Creek Park Bike Trail Opening – Tacoma; 3/29; 10:00am – 4:00pm; Try out the new mountain bike trails at Swan Creek, plus test drive new bikes, meet with bike shops and clubs, and take part in a family-friendly poker run for walkers and bikers.

*Pied Piper Kids’ Entertainment Series – Seattle; 10:30am; Hear Eli Rosenblatt perform his sweet and silly songs. $3 suggested donation.

*Edible Book Festival – Lake Forest Park; 11:00am – 2:00pm; See an exhibit of edible books (savory or sweet) that take their inspiration from real books. See and vote on selections, or bring in your own. Books will be consumed at 1:30 p.m. after judging.

*Teen Center Sing-Alongs: Classic Musicals Double Feature – Seattle; 3/29; 12:30pm – 5:30pm; Join us for a weekend of sing-alongs to favorite musicals. Today we’ll be watching a double feature of classic musicals: “The Wizard of Oz” and “Singing in the Rain.”

*Mother Goose Story Time – Seattle; 3/29; 1:00pm – 2:00pm; Bring your kids ages 6 and younger to meet master storyteller Mother Goose for myths and legends, sing-alongs, scavenger hunts and other activities highlighting birds and animals of Seward Park and legends of the Northwest. Guest appearances by Talking Tree, Sasquatch, Owl, Eagle and Bear.

*Bellevue Art Museums Get Crafty Saturday – Bellevue; 3/29; 1:00pm – 3:00pm; Free craft time for kids each Saturday. $2 material fee or free with admission.

*Annual FREE Children’s Concert - Seattle; 3/29; 2:00pm; Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus will present their annual FREE Children’s Concert. Music and theatrical pieces will be appropriate for toddlers all the way up to teenagers. Kids will have an opportunity to sing along and join in the fun and excitement.  Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE will offer FREE workshops for kids in grades K through 5 (pre-registration required). Workshops at 1 p.m., performance at 2 p.m.

*Nature Walk at Lake Hills Greenbelt – Bellevue; 3/29; 2:00pm; Explore Lake Hills Greenbelt with a park ranger. Learn the history of the park, tour community gardens, and learn about local wildlife. All ages. 2 p.m. Saturdays. $1 suggested donation per person.

*Mercer Slough Nature Walk – Bellevue; 3/29; 2:00pm – 3:00pm; Meet a Mercer Slough park ranger at the visitor center for a free guided tour and learn about the fascinating flora, fauna and history of the Mercer Slough Nature Park. Please dress for weather. No registration is required. FREE.

Sunday, March 30th:

*Celebrate Our World – Shoreline; 3/30; 1:00pm – 2:30pm; Get your passport stamped as you travel around the world and learn about traditions, play games and make crafts from other countries! This program is presented by Imagine Children’s Museum. Best for ages 3 and older.

*Northwest Scottish Fiddlers – Everett; 3/30; 2:00pm; The Northwest Scottish Fiddlers give a free concert of music, singing, and dancing from Scotland, Nova Scotia, and the Shetland Islands, played on fiddles, cellos, guitar, piano and string bass.

Monday, March 31st:

*Pajama Story Time - Seattle; 3/31; 6:45pm – 7:15pm; It is pajama story time at the Queen Anne Branch! All ages are welcome to join us for stories, songs and crafts. You can wear your pajamas!

Tuesday, April 1st:

*Skagit Valley Tulip Festival – Various locations throughout the Skagit Valley; 4/1 – 4/30; Daily events and attractions through April 30, most with appeal for kids and families. *Village Playdays – Seattle; 4/1; 10:00am – 11:00am; Kid-friendly storytime, crafts and activities at a different University Village store or restaurant each Tuesday. Parents receive discounts and offers for that day. Check website for details.

Wednesday, April 2nd:

*Tales & Trails for Little Tykes – Seattle; ; 10:00am-11:00am; Introduce your toddler to nature with story time, songs, and fun activities inside, followed by exploration along the trails of Seward Park. Walks are easy and less than one mile in length. Pre-register, space is limited. Recommended for ages birth to 3. Cost: $2 per person.

*Late Play Date – Auburn; 4/3; 6:00pm – 8:00pm; This monthly FREE program is perfect for kids age 3 to 12. Families will enjoy free admission to the museum as well as themed craft stations and activities, no registration required. Beginning in February, Late Play Dates occur every first Thursday of the month.

*B-Town Beat Music and Art Walk – Burien; 4/3; 6:00pm – 9:00pm;  The B-Town Beat is an independent not-for-profit organization formed in early 2013 with the mission of supporting the development of arts, economic stability and community in Burien. The organization accomplishes this primarily through its monthly Music & Art Walk and its second program, the Art Alley Project.  The free event is held from 6 to 9 p.m. every first Thursday of the month in downtown Burien.

*Spring Whale Watch Week – Oregon Coast; 3/28 – 3/29; 10:00am – 1:00pm; People come from all over to learn about the gray whales that migrate past the Oregon coast each year. The Whale Watching Spoken Here program places volunteers at 24 great whale watching sites during watch weeks so they can help others spot the whales.

*Penny’s Puppets at Central Lutheran Church – Portland; 3/28; 10:30am; Down in the Burrows. Join Squirmy the wormy as she meets her neighbors who live under ground. Help her find her Teddy bear that the sneaky Ferret borrowed. She who lives right under your feet, you will love the fun and the silly characters you meet. *Better Living Show at Expo Center – Portland; 3/29 & 3/30; 10:00am – 6:00pm; The Better Living Show is more than just a sustainability event, it celebrates the possibilities for making choices that work for the modern family and the planet. From the latest in energy efficiency to the products coming to you soon that will improve your life, there is a vast exhibit hall. Free.

* Kids Saturday Morning Skate Session At Oaks Park – Portland; 3/29; 10:30am – 12:00pm; For $6 children 10 and under can skate (skates included). Parents free with paid child admission.

*Nature Discovery Days at Tryon Creek Park - Portland; 3/29; 11:30am – 1:00pm; Wander into one of our classroom discovery days.  We’ve got bones, animal pelts, live animals, and all sorts of other cool stuff we want to share with you.  Each session will have a specific theme, but it’s not a structured program so you can come and go as you please. Different theme each day.

*Children’s Day at the Tram – Portland; 3/29; 12:00pm – 3:00pm;  Balloon making, face painting, Tram T ” shirt coloring (with purchase of T ” shirt; $10) and more.  Children 17 and under ride the Tram for free.

*Oregon Pacific Railroad Train Rides at Rail Heritage Center – Portland; 3/29; 1:00pm – 5:00pm; The Oregon Pacific Railroad is offering round trip diesel locomotive powered passenger train rides to the public from the Oregon Rail Heritage Center, located near OMSI. Passenger trains will operate on Saturdays and depart the Oregon Rail Heritage Center at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30 pm. Rides last approximately 45 minutes. Locomotive cab rides are available for an additional fee.  Cost:  $5

*Rose City Rollers Read at Green Bean Books – Portland; 3/29; 2:00pm – 2:30pm;  Enjoy a special story time with the Rose City Rollers.  The Rose City Rollers aren’t just Portland’s all-female flat track roller derby league but they’re also big on community enrichment and sharing stories about their favorite strong female characters!  10% of all books sold during this event will go to the nonprofit First Book-Portland!

Sunday March 30th:

*Ruckus in the Lobby at Artist Rep – Portland; 3/30 – 5/25 Sundays; 11:00am – 11:45am; Traveling Lantern Theatre two-person family-friendly play every Sunday morning at 11 am. Includes a Q&A with the cast afterward. Tickets are only $5 for all who attend over 5 years old, and can be purchased at the door or at www.artistsrep.org.  Cost:  $5

*Nature Days in the Park: Mt. Williams Park – Beaverton; 3/30; 11:00am – 3:00pm; Ride or walk the new trail connections on the Westside Regional Trail and explore the side trails that connect into the neighborhoods.  We will be on the lookout for birds of prey flying high and signs of the forest creatures that are most active after the human neighbors have gone to bed each night. Education staff and volunteers will lead interactive, nature-based activities.  Park rangers will be available to answer your questions. A free event, suitable for all ages.

*Free Tim Noah Concert at Clark County Event Center – Ridgefield; 3/30; 2:00pm; Tim Noah is an Emmy award winning songwriter and producer, nationally acclaimed recording artist and star of stage and screen. He’s performing at the Vancouver Just Between Friends consignment sale.

Monday, March 31st :

*Tangled Threads at Warehouse Cafe – Portland; 3/31; 10:00am – 11:00am; Join The Tangled Threads for music and merriment. They delight and amaze audiences everywhere through an ever-evolving repertoire that includes music, dance, stilt walking, juggling, clowning, Heely skating, and much more! $5 admission.  Please bring exact change or a check for the artist.

*Tallulah’s Daddy at Rain City Coffee – Portland; 3/31; 10:00am – 11:00am; Come sing, dance and play with Tallulah’s Daddy as he plays guitar, bass and cajon. Tallulah’s Daddy plays fun, energetic acoustic music for your little ones, and you can grab some coffee, tea or a snack. We start with musical storytime, then sing songs, and we leave a little bit of extra time for the kids to get their hands on some percussion instruments!  No cover charge, donations appreciated.

*Music Class with Johnny Keener at The Treehouse – Portland; 3/31; 12:00pm; He will craft music for kids that is exciting and fun, as well as artistically satisfying.  He is committed to inviting kids into the musical process providing them with a musical experience they won’t forget!  Best for ages 0-6.  Cost:  $5 per child

Tuesday, April 1st:

*Preschool Play and Skate at Oaks Park – Portland; 4/1; 10:00am – 11:30am; This special roller skating session is just for your littlest skaters. Children 6 and under enjoy games, songs, blals, a 15 minute group lesson, snack time, and more. Conventional skate rental included. Shoes and strollers welcome on the skating floor. Adults free with paid children’s admission. Cost: $6.00

*Micah and Me Singalong at Rain City Coffee – Portland; 4/1; 3:00pm; Micah and Me Kids Singalong at Rain City Coffee Tuesdays at 3pm. We will be singing the favorites including Dan Zanes’ new one, “Let’s Dance.”

*’Little Ears’ Free Concerts for Children at Hisotric Old Church – Portland; 4/1; 3:30pm – 4:30pm;  Ferdinand the Bull and The Emperor and the Bird of Paradise. Music by Alan Rideout.  Also featured in this concert is “The Emperor and the Bird of Paradise” a delightful and whimsical piece that tells the story of a lonely emperor who learns how to never be lonely again.

Wednesday, April 2nd:

*Johnny Keener @ Coffee Kids – Portland; 4/2; 10:00am – 10:45am; Come hang out, sing, and dance with Johnny Keener, he will be playing music for the kiddos from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Coffee Kids. All ages are welcome. Free event.

*Red Yarn at Village Ballroom – Portland; 4/2; 10:00am – 10:45am; Audiences will sing, dance, act, and experience the joy of community during Red Yarn’s interactive shows. This show is hosted by Woodlawn Swap’n’Play, a cooperative community space where children play, parents socialize, and kids’ toys and outgrown clothes are swapped. www.woodlawnswapnplay.org Stick around for open playtime after the show, also hosted by Woodlawn Swap’n’Play!  $5/family suggested

*African World Music at Rain City Coffee – Portland; 4/2; 10:00am – 11:00am;  Neindow and friends bring the rhythms of Africa to Rain City Coffee most Wednesdays. Kids of all ages and adults are welcome to join this fun, upbeat music hour of drumming, singing and jamming. Bring your children and come and dance and play along with them and try some of their handmade African kids drums while playing along to the African rhythms.  Cost:  $5/family

*Wondrous Wednesday’s At The World Forestry Center – Washington Park; 4/2; 10:00am to 5:00pm; Reduced admission for The Discovery Museum. Get in for $3 on the first Wed. of each month.

*Tadpole Tales at Columbia Children’s Arboretum – Portland; 4/2; 10:00am – 11:00am; Children aged 3-5 with their parents are invited to a short story and guided nature walk. Watch birds fly overhead, search for hidden animal homes, and learn about local trees and flowers. Themes change each week and locations change each month.  This program runs each Wednesday March-May. Event runs rain or shine. Families are welcome to bring a snack. *Honeybee Hikes at Leach Botanical Gardens – Portland; 4/2; 10:00am – 11:00am; Weekly nature-related activities for young children and their adult caregivers. Discover the secrets of the Garden and its critters through stories and outdoor explorations. Dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes for unpaved, uneven walkways that could be muddy. Strollers limit where we can explore, so carriers are ideal for little ones. No pre-registration required. Best for ages 1-6. Cost: $2 per child

*Bucket Truck Rides at Chapman Square – Portland; 4/2; 11:00am – 1:00pm;  Chatter with a chipmunk. Roost with the birds. Take a ride to the sky in a bucket truck in downtown Portland. Celebrate the start of Arbor Month with the Urban Forestry crew in Chapman Square. First come, first served. Hosted by Portland’s own Urban Forestry division.  Chapman Square: SW 5th Ave. & SW Main St.

*Knee-high Naturalists at Willow Creek Greenway – Portland; Join them on these nature adventures as they explore the wildlife in the local parks.  Each Knee High Naturalist Hike meets at a different site.  Only one registration per family is necessary.  Suitable for ages 2-5 years. Advanced registration required; call 503/629-6350; 503/629-6350.  $8 per family, in-district.  An assessment fee will be charged for out-of-district patrons. OnApril 3, it will be at Willow Creek Greenway. We will meet at the park entrance on NW Eastmoreland Ct off of NW Mission Oaks Blvd.

*Tallulah’s Daddy at Warehouse Cafe – Portland; 4/3; 10:00am – 11:00am; Come sing, dance and stomp like a dinosaur as Tallulah’s Daddy sings and plays his guitar, bass and cajon. Tallulah’s Daddy plays fun, energetic and interactive acoustic music for kids, and brings lots of percussion goodies for kids of all ages to play with!  Cost:  donation

* Free admission to the Museum of Contemporary Craft - Portland; 4/3; 11:00am – 8:00pm; Free admission on the first Thursday of every month.
