In the near future, I'll be making a dress for a little one that's just been born. I'm thinking of making a size 1 and am on the lookout for suitable PDF dress patterns. I have a few already purchased that will fit the bill, but thought I'd look around and see what else is available.
One obvious place to look for PDF pattern reviews, is in the Girls' Dresses Link Party, here on Threading My Way. There are 270 dresses linked up and I know there are lots of pattern reviews amongst them.
Why PDF patterns and not paper patterns? I like and use both types of patterns, but just at the moment, I'm a bit short of time to get in the car and go shopping and too impatient to wait to have them shipped. So perusing on line is what I'm after.
So, most of this week's features are made with PDF patterns. These dresses all really appeal to me, both because of the style of the dresses and also because of the fabrics chosen. Whether it be a comprehensive review, or photos and a few sentences, each writer describes their experiences sewing these dresses. Thanks to these ladies, I've found some new pattern designers and some new patterns from designers I already knew.
Emie Dress Pattern Review by RaeAnna, from Sewing Mama RaeAnna
Harper Dress Pattern Review by Trina Rae, from Craft Anyway
Katie J Jumper Review by Kristy, from Hopeful Threads
Amanda's Dress Review by Deanna, from Little D and Me
Hopscotch Dress Review by Christy, from Sew Love It
Geranium Dress Review by Suz, from Sew Pony
Elsie Dress Review by Jaclyn, from Bolamo Design Studio
The link to the pattern itself is outdated, as the designer has obviously redone their website, but the links to their website work and you can easily find the actual dress from there.
Cherished Dress Review by Veronica, from SewVery
Even though the Cherished Dress does not appear to be a PDF pattern, I've included it as many of the other dresses by this designer are both paper and PDF patterns. She's a new to me designer and I wanted to check out her patterns.
Head on over and visit these talented ladies.
I'd love you to leave a comment telling me your favourite PDF girls' dress pattern or your favourite PDF pattern designer.
