We’re lucky to be close to many local theatres showcasing some incredible local talent. We’ve compiled a list of some of the theatre shows that will be on throughout February, so have a browse and see if any take your fancy.

A Judgement in Stone

Building on the success of long-running The Agatha Christie Company, A Judgement in Stone features astounding dramatic performances from TV stars including Andrew Lancel and Sophie Ward.

A 1950s favourite, Tony and Olivier award-winning rom-com Guys and Dolls features all the hustle and bustle of the original, set in New York, with the original toe-tapping musical numbers including Luck Be A Lady and Sit Down, You’re Rocking The Boat.

The Sound of Murder

Gripping, dramatic and filled with tension, this thriller focuses on Charles Norbury, a nasty, controlling man and his wife. When his wife meets another man and the pair plan on doing away with Charles Norbury, their scheming is discovered and things take a climactic turn.

Too Long an Autumn – former music-hall star Maisie May checks in to a theatricals’ retirement home, her final curtain approaching. But when a local impresario devises big plans for her, she jumps at the chance of a memorable encore.

Million Dollar Quartet

Following a successful run in the West End, Las Vegas and on Broadway, Million Dollar Quartet arrives in Richmond, starring none other than Jason Donovan. La Strada

One of the true masterpieces of modern cinema, this new stage adaption of Federico Fellini’s La Strada, directed by Olivier Award nominee Sally Cookson, sees the profoundly impassioned and deeply involving story stimulate the senses, fire emotions and stir the soul. Follow the story of wide-eyed Gelsomina as she makes the journey from penniless to performer.

Winter Solstice

Written by Schimmelpfennig, Germany’s most performed playwright, this hilariously sharp comedy-drama focuses on married couple Albert and Bettina during the Christmas period. They are slightly less than enthralled when Bettina’s seemingly rowdy mother comes to stay and after meeting a man on the train, decides to bring him back to join the fun! Low Level Panic

The Snow Dragons by Lizzie Nunnery and performed by Katie Abbot is a new play for young people, telling the story of Raggi and her friends. They spend their free time in the mountains playing games of Vikings, dragons and war. When soldiers occupy the town below, they watch their families beaten and silenced. Let down by the adult world, they form ‘The Snow Dragons’, ‘the last line of resistance’, carrying out sabotage missions. But this is no game, and true courage requires great sacrifice.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
