2016 saw some marvellous performances at our local theatres and we’re sure this will continue well into 2017. We’re giving you a run down of the exciting shows that are coming up at theatres across the (reasonably) local area this January.
One of our New Year’s resolution suggestions for everyone was to get out and go and see more of the wonderful, creative and powerful performances put on across our local theatres. There are so many diverse and professional productions that it would be a shame to not see at least one – take a look what shows are coming up this January and see if any take your fancy.

Pins and Needles are proud to be bringing another of Raymond Briggs’ wonderful storybooks to life on stage at the Rose Theatre. After the large success of Father Christmas, the Rose is bringing you another wonderfully wintry tale with a humorous twist. The perfect production for little people, The Bear features puppetry, music and great storytelling.

Written by Schimmelpfennig, Germany’s most performed playwright, this hilariously sharp comedy-drama focuses on married couple Albert and Bettina during the Christmas period. They are slightly less than enthralled when Bettina’s seemingly rowdy mother comes to stay and after meeting a man on the train, decides to bring him back to join the fun!
