Talk about freshness.

Artist Dan Cretu creates sculptures of commonplace objects using an assortment of foods – mostly fruits and vegetables. For his produce-based works, Cretu says he has a very small window in which to build and photograph his creations – about four hours. Since he claims not to do any digital retouching or editing of his photos, it’s key to get his works completed quickly so that he can photograph them before they start to age from exposure.

And occasionally, he throws out a pop culture reference or two.
