Matte makeup products for Fall

I have so much love for matte products, regardless of the season, but there’s no denying that Fall is where it’s really at when it comes to matte finishes.

While a lot of you might already be longing after Summer, it seems that we just can’t get rid of  it here in New Jersey. The temperatures are still ridiculously high and it looks like I’m gonna have to wait a little longer for that sweater weather to get here.

Because I just can’t wait any longer, I though it’d tell you all about  some of my all-time favorite matte makeup products that will be perfect for Fall.

MAC matte lipsticks (left to right) Ruby Woo, Flat Out Fabulous (Retro Matte), Kinda Sexy, Whirl and Velvet Teddy. Long wearing formula and great colors is what I love about these. Weird thing is that the brighter colors don’t wear as comfortable as other shades in my collection and they tend to be a little chalky. You can clearly see that in these swatches, Kinda Sexy, Whirl and Velvet Teddy are much creamier and softer than Ruby Woo and Flat Out Fabulous, but I still love them and have no issue as long as my lips are exfoliated and moisturized [here are my reviews: Ruby Woo, Flat Out Fabulous, Whirl, Velvet Teddy].

Another absolute favorite matte lipsticks of mine and frankly, my favorite lipsticks in my collection are NYX Matte Lipsticks. They’re affordable, come in a huge range of gorgeous colors, they are non-drying and I really cannot think of anything bad to say about them. I think I actually prefer their formula over the MAC matte one. I own pretty every single color, but some of my favorites are: Audrey, Alabama, Perfect Red, Tea Rose and Whipped Caviar (those mauve-y vibes get me every single time!.

Another amazing matte lip products from NYX are their Soft Matte Lip Creams. Similarly to NYX’s Matte Lipsticks, these are amongst my favorite lip products. Their finish is a bit of a mix between satin and matte. At first they look a bit glossy but they do dry to a matte/satin finish. They feel very smooth and velvety on lips and are pretty long-lasting and they smell like cookies. Seriously. The only down side is that once they do wear off after a couple of hours, my lips often feel a bit dry.

If I were to only keep one palette from my makeup stash it would most likely be Tarte’s Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette. It’s an all-matte palette with 12 gorgeous eye shadows. Their formula is smooth, creamy and very pigmented. A few of my favorite shades are Supermom, Multitasker and Force of Nature. With this palette you can go anywhere from a soft and natural look to a dramatic night-time smokey eye. You can find my full review and swatches right here.

Another all-matte favorite palette of mine is Lorac’s Pro Matte Palette that I recently reviewed right here. The formula once again is creamy, it blends beautifully and the color range is ideal for Fall. The palette itself is small, compact and it also comes with a mirror which makes it a perfect travel companion. You can find my review right here.

Last palette that I want to include in this post is not an all-matte palette as it comes with one shimmer eye shadow as well. It’s the Naked Basics Palette from Urban Decay. It’s another travel-friendly palette since it has pretty much everything you need. I don’t think that these eyeshadows are as pigmented as the ones from the Lorac Pro Matte Palette or the Tartelette palette, but they’re quite nice as they are.

Two of my favorite matte bronzers are Benefit’s Hoola Bronzing Powder and Bare Minerals Warmth. Both have a nice, natural-looking matte finish.

I am not a huge fan of overly pigmented blushes, but I definitely like them with a matte finish. Milani is definitely a drugstore brand that’s become famous for their blushes. I have a lot of love for their baked blushes, but I also really like their Rose Powder Blushes, although both of these are complete different. With Rose Powder Blushes, I have to use a very light hand as they are pigmented and have a nice color payoff. They can be a bit too drying for dry skin types, but they do have a very nice and very matte finish. Romantic Rose is my favorite as it’s the most natural-looking on my skin tone.

What are some of your favorite matte-finish products?
