I previously discussed both the advantages and disadvantages of selling your products on eBay. If you have mulled those both over and are ready to take the plunge and start selling, then the first step is to set up your own eBay account.

Visit Ebay.com (or whatever your countries version is) and find the Register link to get started.

You will be brought to this simple registration page where you will begin the process of creating an account. Fill in the required fields and make sure to read both the User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

Once you have done all of that you can click the submit button. From there you can either check your email, where you will find a welcome message and username they chose for you, as well as some other information.

Or, you can visit eBays home page and start exploring your account. At the top right hand side of the homepage you will find My eBay, which will gain you access to all of your back end needs. Click on the My eBay button (don’t worry about the drop down menu just yet) and you will be brought to a new page.

Here you can see what your eBay user name is and if you decide you would rather it be something else, then you are able to change it.

You can do so by clicking on the Account menu drop down (right below your username) and choosing Personal Information.

This page is pretty simple to navigate and you can change things by simple clicking the Edit button.

You will need to add your address to your account before you begin the selling process so it would be a good idea to do that now.

At this point you are ready to start listing your first item for sale!

I will be walking you through listing an item soon, so stay tuned and start getting them together.
