Republic Day Essay In English
26 January is celebrated as a Republic Day every year and this year we will celebrate our 65th Republic Day. This is the national festival of India which is one among the three important National Holidays of India after Gandhi Jayanti and Independence Day. 26 January 1950, the day when our India became fully democratic by reinforcement of the Indian Constitution in the Indian Parliament. From that day we celebrate 26th January every year with lots of love and enjoyment.
A procession starts from Vijay Chowk. The President of India takes the salute from the Jawans of Army, Navy and Air-force. There is a display of marching units of bands, tanks and big guns. They are followed by Jhankis from all the states. Every state displays its tableau on this day and at the end, best tableau is awarded. There is a colourful fly past of aeroplanes. At night some important buildings are illuminated.
We should take an oath that we shall do our best for the welfare and peace of our beloved country. We should swear to serve our country with devotion. In the prosperity of our country, alone, lies our glorious future.
Before starting my speech on such an authentic occasion, I would like to wish all the honorable guests, teachers and my dear friends present today. It is my great privilege that I got this wonderful opportunity to speak in front of all on this very special and important event. We have been celebrating our constitution from 26th January 1950. It’s been 67 years our constitution came into effect. In this journey of 67 years, our country India has gone through a very long way of changes and development. I would like to go ahead putting light on some important phases of our history.
