BENJAMIN MOORE: DECORATORS WHITE

Questions about paint colors are the number one query I get around here, so today I thought I'd talk about my favorite white interior paints. I've used several different shades of white paint through the years and have a few favorites that I've turned to again and again.

Starting things off with my all time favorite, Benjamin Moore's Decorators White.  This is the paint color that both my daughters chose for their new rooms and it's also the color that we used in my oldest daughter's old room as well as in our vacation home.  Unlike a lot of other white paints, this particular shade seems to hold up beautifully regardless of the room or the light situation.  It's bright and white and very clean and modern looking.

BENJAMIN MOORE: WHITE DOVE

Another favorite white paint that I've turned to again and again is Benjamin Moore's White Dove.  Our old kitchen cabinets were this shade and we used it again in our new home. White Dove is the color I chose to paint the dark cherry wood cabinetry in my new closet, in order to make it bright and cheery.  Almost all of the trim and moldings in our old house were painted this shade as well (in the oil satin impergo finish) and we loved the shade so much that we did the same with the trim and moldings here in our new home.

BENJAMIN MOORE: SIMPLY WHITE

Although we did repeat a lot of our old design decisions here at our new house, our new kitchen did not end up White Dove, as I'd originally thought it might. Painting the somewhat beige/yellow cabinets white (see before shots here) had seemed like a "no brainer" but Muse Interiors thought it might be helpful to see some other shades of white in the space.  Once I saw a sample of Simply White on the cabinetry, the decision was pretty clear, and we obviously ended up choosing that instead.

BENJAMIN MOORE: CALM

Finally, another great shade of white paint that Muse Interiors introduced to us is Benjamin Moore's Calm.  Not really a true white, but sort of a warm white with gray undertones- we had used it in our old family room and wanted to try it again since we were keeping all the furniture the same. It looks entirely different to me in the new setting, but I think I love it even more here!

Let me know if this post was helpful in the comments- I'm more than happy to do another round up of my favorite gray paints as well!
