Tiffany Trump has thanked Whoopi Goldberg for coming to her defense after various fashion writers tweeted that no one wanted to sit next to President Donald Trump’s daughter in the front row of Philipp Plein’s recent show during New York Fashion Week.
In a tweet shared on Monday by Wall Street Journal fashion columnist Christina Binkley, Trump’s daughter was seen at the event, surrounded by empty seats.
“You know what Tiffany? I’m supposed to go to a couple more shows — I’m coming to sit with you,” Goldberg said Wednesday on “The View.” “Because nobody is talking politics at the [shows], you’re looking at fashion! She doesn’t want to talk about her dad. She’s looking at the fashion!”
Goldberg added, “I don’t want to talk about your dad, but, girl, I will sit next to you. Because I’ve been there where people said, ‘We’re not going to sit next to you.’ I’ll find your ass and sit next to you!”
Trump responded to Goldberg on Wednesday, tweeting: “Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg I’d love to sit with you too!”

Fashionista.com EIC Alyssa Vingan Klein also tweeted about the “seating s— show” on Monday, allegedly prompting Nikki Ogunnaike, senior fashion editor at Elle, to tweet that she and other editors decided to relocate after being seated next to the president’s daughter. (Ogunnaike’s Twitter account is private.)

On “The View,” Goldberg added that she had no problem with people boycotting Ivanka Trump’s clothing line, that Nordstrom recently dropped.
“There is a difference,” Goldberg said. “That’s all about buying stuff. You’re buying stuff. This girl is looking at fashion, and she’s just looking at fashion.”
When reports surfaced that magazine editors were avoiding Trump, many took to Twitter to criticize the women for being bullies.

Plein has since joined the chorus, coming to Trump’s defense.
“I mean can you blame someone, like a family member, can you blame a daughter for having… a father who has the wrong political direction,” the German designer told TMZ. “I’m not a politician… I just don’t think it’s right to judge or treat someone not with respect because she or he is the daughter or son of somebody people don’t like. I think that’s so bad.”
Trump was later photographed sitting next to Andrew Warren and another woman at Plein’s show, the NY Daily News reported.
