First Lady Michelle Obama will give the keynote address at Disney’s first-ever Veterans Institute workshop on Nov. 14 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., the company announced Monday.

The free one-day workshop is designed to inspire other companies to employ servicemen and women transitioning to the private sector — a goal the First Lady has championed while her husband, Barack Obama, has held office.

In 2011, the First Lady teamed up with Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, to launch Joining Forces. The initiative is dedicated to connecting servicemen and women, veterans, and military spouses with the resources they need to find jobs at home.

The Veterans Institute, which is co-sponsored by the organization Heroes Work Here and Disney Institute, will feature government officials, veterans and non-profit veterans service organizations sharing their experiences, best practices, and tips for making a successful transition from the military to the civilian workforce.

“We applaud First Lady Michelle Obama’s efforts to raise awareness of the strengths and unique needs of veterans and their families, and we are honored to have her join Disney’s first-ever ‘Veterans Institute,’ a program designed to showcase the value of veterans, share best hiring practices, and encourage greater employment opportunities for military men and women transitioning into civilian life,” Robert Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, said in a statement.
