While Kodak Black and Lil Yachty were beefing over who first coined the term “broccoli” in reference to marijuana, rapper E-40 quietly let everyone know it was actually he who created the term … way back in 1993.

The Bay Area-based MC took to social media this morning and posted a snippet of a 1998 music video for his song titled “Broccoli.”

“F— beef get money,” the former “Click” member captioned the post referring to Kodak and Yachty’s tiff. He also hashtagged it “#problemsolved.”

On Wednesday, Kodak Black, the 19-year-old rapper who was recently released from jail, uploaded a video to his social media page calling out fellow rappers D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty for supposedly stealing his use of “broccoli” to refer to weed.

“Man, what the f—, man?” Kodak said after playing a clip of D.R.A.M.’s single titled “Broccoli” which features Lil Yachty. “Who these n—– is jocking my lil’ swag, man, talking bout broccoli, man. Nah, I’m saying you n—– don’t smoke broccoli. Look for now on, man, I don’t smoke broccoli no more. I smoke cantaloupe since y’all square ass n—– tryna jack the swag. I smoke cantaloupe now.”

Lil Yachty responded to the Florida-based rapper’s accusations and said he meant no harm and that he always gives Kodak recognition before performing the song.

“Anytime before I perform the song ‘Broccoli,’ I say shouts out to that nigga Kodak,” Lil Yachty said. “Second of all, I don’t even smoke broccoli. I don’t give a f— about weed. That’s just how it is. I ain’t never been no square ass n—-. I address shit how it is. I showed all my respect, but n—- I ain’t never been no square, n—-.”

Well, turns out both rappers weren’t even born yet when E-40 first coined the term.
