Hamilton Red Wings forward Corey Caruso (photo credit - Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Mercyhurst University Lakers beginning with the 2015-16 Atlantic Hockey season.
The hometown Hamilton, Ontario product joined the Red Wings this season after previously having played for the Hamilton Reps and Huskies Midget programs. Following his minor midget season in 2011-12 with the Reps, Caruso would be selected by the Oshawa Generals in the 13th round, 250th overall of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. Last season he would star for the Hamilton Huskies as one of the club's alternate captains, recording 56 points in 32 games while also competing in the OHA Cup. Caruso has not disappointed for the Wings this season, currently leading the club in scoring with 11 goals and 27 points in 30 contests thus far.
